2005 [Indie]Sparkling Childhood

My 2nd thread here... blush

This was done in BIAB 12 years ago, and was then "re-assembled" with real instruments 8 years ago.
The original words are in Chinese, I now translate it to English:)

Lyrics:
Do you remember the songs we sang as a child?
Time-fluid sparkled, we sang.
Back then, we ran, we grew, with nothing on our minds.
Spring breezes, whipping our faces gently, birds, flying, freely.
Will it be the same when children(/we) grow up one day? I asked.
You laughed and said:"Aren't you thinking too much, buddy?"
And then, "Shall we tomorrow play pingpong or Super Mario?"

I am a criket and I sing aloud, turning into a shape of a naughty kid.
And if I woke you up, don't get too nervous.
Knocked on the door and hid myself, enjoyed watching the angry face of the old man neighbor opening his door.
Looking like a wizard who had lost his wand.
He wouldn't see me fleeing away in a hurry with dust behind me.
Is he now still as well as in the good old days?

The girl you used to have a crush on, where is she now?
Guess she would never find out your madness about her.
You patted on your chest and said nothing could stop you from anything.
What if she was already married to someone, I asked.
You became silent and looked afar into the endless distance, "Isn't it the true meaning of life?"

I often dreamed of old times these day, though we both have figured out our own life paths.
Spring breezes, still whipping our faces gently, birds' great-great grandchildren, flying, freely.
Will it be the same when children(/we) grow up one day? I asked again.
This time I laughed at your fully-grown-up face, and said if you need a drink I will be there with you till the next beam of sunlight comes up.

Biang! Duang! Whoa~~~

Sorry, this song is to difficult to translate, I will complete it later. whistle -->Done.
Hope you like it. Thanks.

Hi Kevin,

It's great to see you back again! This is fantastic! I can't speak Chinese but I love the upbeat feel... it's really, REALLY catchy! Is that you singing? If so, you've got a very engaging voice... and VERY creative use of it.

Loved it!

All the best,
Noel

Wow, Kevin - what a tune! As Noel said, it's extraordinarily catchy and really captures your attention. Despite not understanding it, I definitely feel the music smile

Thanks so much for sharing!

Hi Noel, can't believe you still remember me smile
Yes, it was me singing, thanks for saying that...my voice is usually cold-hearted, but somehow in this one, shows a little humanity. LOL.

Upbeat and Uplifting.

What a great fun delivery.

Very enjoyable, and you've managed to give the song a lot of comedy in the arrangement.

Tell us more about the style and real tracks that you used.

Very cute song. The beat of the song would make it a lot of fun for kids to sing along too...

Kevin,

We sure remember those songs from when we were very little, didn't sound like this one though.

Kevin,
Happy go lucky singalong fun for all kids, big & small - love those improvised sounds at the end.
You captured the spirit of the lyrics with your warm vocal.
Well done.

I cannot find the bb files, it was too long ago, sorry about that. This recording back in 2008, even derived from the bb files done in 2005, but it is musicians playing real instruments (and some other weird strange things that can make a sound...), not realtracks.

Thanks to the fact that in 2008 my university decided to publish an albumn containing original songs done by its students, I got this chance to make it "real instruments". However these days, with BB RealTracks, I might not need that chance :P

A friend of mine asked me for a song tailored for him, and I wrote this one. He said it was bad after he listened to it, but regretted very much after he heard my version, and begged me for another one "just like this", I said OK~

It, was, 8, years, ago, and he is now still waiting. :P

He is the only fan that ever gave a reaction to this song.

Thank you Dave T_T

This is the one-time-only warm vocal of me :p
Other songs are cold-blooded vocal :0

LOL

Nice and bouncing tune!

We agree with all of the above and would like to add that the mix sounds excellent on our monitors.
