Piano-recital

This two minute piano-recital was made with a midi-file song template: called "figured you out"... yeah Nickleback... I wanted to hear; how many piano riffs were embedded in my BIAB. SO I quickly made many midi styles of this song. By looking quickly at the tracks it was easy, to see, where the piano riffs were. Yes, with those riffs I created a new "Piano-recital" . I don't know which final riffs, I used among these many midi-file styles below:

All this got edited down to 2 minutes.... Hope you like it

Hi, "LPMan"...

I wouldn't think you were lazy at all based on the way you conceptualized this piece, "Piano-recital"!

I would describe it as "esoterically exciting" in that it has the quality of "indeterminacy" that daring classical composers such as John Cage and Witold Lutoslawski employed in their form-challenging compositions. It's as though the music was listening to itself to discover where it should go next.

Altogether a nice melange of sounds and styles feeding off of each other like some kind of stop-motion, musical kaleidoscope.

Intrigued,

LOREN

A very good piano recital it is! You did a good job of piecing all of these together.
Posted By: LPman Re: Piano-recital - 11/06/17 01:30 AM
Thanks so much LOREN

Well, I checked out "John Cage and Witold Lutoslawski"
and read a little history on them, then I sampled some of
their music. I must say... I am in excellent company! I would like to thank; BIAB for making this all possible...

Your review of my song really floors me... thank-you

Thanks MarioD

This was a one time experiment, and maybe my last recital too!
Glad you liked it. :-)

A good listen. A lot of interesting passages in that...

What an interesting piece of music! I found it really exciting and unpredictable, which is a good thing in my books. I definitely get a John Cage sort of vibe here.

Thanks so much for sharing smile

Completely different and it could be classed as jazz ? VERY cleverly put together and totally interesting for any musician to listen to
Posted By: LPman Re: Piano-recital - 11/06/17 02:56 PM
Thanks furry,

To be honest; I have know idea what genre this is, so I tagged it as
#classic saloon..... the only one on Soundcloud...so far! That's the fun thing about tags. I liked your tribute to the late Mrs Helen Shepherd.

You asked, "Could it be classed as Jazz?" LOREN aka bluage
would probably know...

I wanna thank-you for your wonderful support smile

Thanks I will listen to more of John Cage
and find different ways to explore BIAB smile

Thanks MusicStudent

I am always looking for ways to improvise on my piano,
so I can handed it to BIAB.... and say, "Show me your interpretation of my new music piece."

thanks for the listen and your kind response.

I enjoy your work, and hope to understand and explore some of your vocal genius!

This was a very interesting piece of music. Very strange and cool at the same time
Posted By: LPman Re: Piano-recital - 11/06/17 09:34 PM
Thanks Scott

It is a strange piece... It took 3 months to decide if it was worth posting and figuring out; how to explain what I've done in a nutshell. I think this song is; INSANITY trying to sound ~SANE.... ( or maybe that is just me. )

This to me... is definitely like a mad-scientist concoction.
I had my reservation, but I'm glad I decided to post it, none the less.

THanks for posting your thoughts

Yes! What a cool idea and terrific results! I can only try to imagine how much time you put into this. the concept is terrific and the execution was spot on. Very nice work!

As far as genre, it's a tough call. What do you think we just call it "LP Contemporary"? Works for me!

Best to you.

Alan

Thanks again Al-David,
for the comment on soundcloud.

Yeah, "Contemporary" is a good word choice.

Thanks for your wonderful blush support and understanding

It would be very hard to add to what Loren said.

There are a lot of interesting riffs there. Kept our attention through back to back listens!

The contrast of all this work with the handle "Lazy" was the first thing that went through my mind. Interesting collection here! Take care. Greg

Such an interesting idea! It was a super neat idea of you, and I can't believe it took three months to decide if you should post it or not. I'm really glad that you did decide to share it with us. It's an unpredictable piece, but I quite enjoy that quality!

Thanks for deciding to share!

Hi Greg Johnson,

I call my self LazyPianoMan, because I play my keyboard in bed. No more back-pain for me... I gave up on trying to remember songs to play, along time ago... There isn't one old song I can still play. Most label this, as a lack of discipline and bad practice habits. I prefer to just improvise.

I am free to explore music theory questions, with chord mapping projects, that would make most people shake their heads as circling nonsense. It's just easier to be a LazyPianoMan, then to show all what I have explored...

I am right now exploring a new mapping project... I never know
what new chord mapping bug catches me!

Thanks for your kind words Greg
Sincerely LPman

Hello, LPman

What an interesting piece of music!
It is a very experimental ambitious work.
This is definitely John Cage.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Hi Shigeki Adachi

Well, here is a new ambitious project I am working on.
I created a modulating drum track and added 7 default
bass lines. Then I took these 7 Mp3 tracks and paired (remixed)
them with tracks that complimented each other.

Now I want to improvise on the keyboard to each of these
7 paired tracks.... similar to creating "Piano recital" I
will collect the best parts of my improvisations, that should equate to the Key modes: Cmj,Dmn,Emn,Fmj,Gmj,Amn & Bbmj

I have no idea, if this will work.... wish me luck!

Sincerely LPman
