Hi Elliot. This is a really nice write.
Only one small thing maybe just me but
the slide guitar seems to clash in places

Dear Mr. Kayne...

Your song, "Somewhere Far Away Sleeps My Lady", was a distinctive listening experience for me!

It has a warm, inviting tone to it that was greatly augmented by your soulful (yes, soulful!) voice, and by the laid-back, almost casual way you delivered the lyrics. It was conversational, like talking set to a melody.

Also, I thought it was nice the way you held back the Real Drums for a few measures. It had the effect of creating a prelude to the song that made the drums sound all that much better when they came in. The brief holds, or rests, or breaks(?) you inserted into the song made the lyrics that followed them sound just like the way we speak when the words come from our hearts -- feelings strung together with little pauses for emphasis.

Your chord choices lent a wistful, yearning quality to the song. Listening to it more than once enriched the pleasure of it!
