Nobody Else’s Fault But Mine

If she hadn’t run away never to be found
This same ol day to day wouldn’t drag me down
I guess that it’s a good thing I keep walking down the road
I might have kept on falling down under this heavy load
If you ask me how I’m doing this is what you’ll find
It’s nobody else’s fault but mine

maybe if I’d took the time to tell her how I felt
I’d wouldn’t be here stuck right now in this living hell
There’s no one I can think to blame so here’s the bottom line
It’s nobody else’s fault but mine

Good thing I’ve got this beer tp drink myself to sleep
I run it round inside my head then I hit repeat
my friends they keep on sayin don’t you dwell on this
Wish I could get it out of head cause Man I’m sick of it
It’s not like I’m the only one it happens all the time
It’s nobody else’s fault but mine

maybe if I’d took the time to tell her how I felt
I’d wouldn’t be here stuck right now in this living hell
There’s no one I can think to blame so here’s the bottom line
It’s nobody else’s fault but mine

Man I can’t get over this but I wish there was a way
So I didn’t have think about it every single day
back when I first met her and she grabbed a hold of me
I thought she’d always be right here as far as I could see
There’s no one I can think to blame so here’s the bottom line
It’s nobody else’s fault but mine

This is right in my wheelhouse. Great playing, great track.

How did you manage to do those shots if you don't mind my asking??

Doesn't get much better than this, loved it!

Tom,

Now that is some great hard-hitting blues... I love the intro and your vocal delivery. Excellent production - sounds like it's jumping off the vinyl.

Loved it!

Bob

Hi Tom,

You knew I was going to like this, didn't you!
I liked it from the title even before I hit the play button.

Now this is what Blues-Rock is all about. A big, BIG, powerful sound that drives from the first bar
to the fabulous over-the-top ending. Wonderful vocals, inspired lyrics and solos that make your
ears bleed.

I mean, what's not to like.

Thanks, Tom. You made my day.

ROG.

Bob got it right!! Glad to see you back to the blues. I'm sure you would miss the blues, and I'm sure the blues would miss you too!! The playing, the writing, and the ATTITUDE are all right there man!

I run it round inside my head then I hit repeat

Love that line!!! Great one Tom!!! Take care. Greg

That was great, Tommy! Really enjoyed it. Hard hitting and gritty.

But, I thought it was RHARV's fault... (Longtime forum joke!)

And whats wrong with Blues, Man?! A real Full On track.
The Song took me right back 40 years when we were playing this stuff for a Living. You certainly know how to "drive" a Blues Axe!!
Loved it!

Hi Tommy. This the sort of quality tune we all aim for.
You've just raised the bar. What a great tune.
Think I'm gonna write me one of them.
Well done sir you made my day. Rob

Great sound, excellent song - & some great tasty playing. Nice intro - were they drum loops?
Superb work.

Dave, thanks for the kind words. The stops are bass and drum loops. Glad you liked it, Tom

Bob, thanks for listening and commenting. The stops worked so well in the intro I used them again later to set up one of the solos. I really enjoyed your Mercer Street. Tom

Tom,

This is superb! Absolutely! Nobody on here does 12/8 blues shuffles like you. When you immerse yourself in this genre, to my mind, it's like an eagle taking flight and soaring with grandeur, authority, strength. It's so good.

What really appealed to me was your attention to arrangement. The interplays between drums, strums and silences were perfect. However I listen to this, there's only one inescapable conclusion that comes to mind.... you REALLY know your stuff!

All the best,
Noel

P.S. Apologies for missing a few of your songs. Circumstances have taken me out of action for a bit. Hopefully I'm back bouncing again now!

Well done

Authentic! Wow! Great tune man.

I have to say, the hits are awesome, right down to the occasional subtle hihat "chick" in between the main hits, to keep time. Just like a REAL band would do. That SO adds to the realism for me.

I can pretty much picture the band playing this.

Seriously great job.

If that opening doesn't grab you... you likely have no heart beat.

That opening lead is one of the best recorded leads ever presented here. Quality plus!

The vocal, too. Up-front and "tucked in the mix" at the same time. Magic ('cause I don't think there is any other explanation). You have a terrific voice for this stuff!

Kickin' bass! Excellent drum sound. Love the stops. Blisterin' leads.

And a good Pop-Rock-Blues write. Had to go back and listen a second time the pay attention because the music just sweeps you away the first time...

Gettin' out my TOM ADAMS stamp: TOP NOTCH. "As good as it gets".

smile

This song really grabbed me from the get-go. The opening of the song reminds me a smidgen of "Bad to the Bone". laugh Which is definitely a good thing! Awesome job.

Whoa buddy...that is great - like ZZ Top great. You just shot the mix bar to the moon.

To quote Janice, "I don't know what to say. It's big. It's powerful. The vocal is so strong and the playing is hot and tasteful."

Back to blues? Like a runaway freight train.

More! More! More!

Tom, your guitars are really sounding great lately! But when I think about it, they always do! This track really achieves a tonal quality that's hard to beat though! There's not a single thing in this track to improve on that I can hear! Absolutely great! Thanks, Torrey

Greg, I always manage to come back around to the blues. There are times that I take a long detour so it feels extra good to come back to the fold. Glad you liked that repeat line. Thanks, Tom

Thanks Ian. Once you get into the blues it never really leaves you. As for the full sound, a lot of the guitar tracks were double and triple tracked using different tones. Thanks again for stopping by, Tom

Caaron, I originally took the hi hat chicks out. Then I had a moment of clarity and decided like you said that they added authenticity. So I went back and edited them back in. Thanks for mentioning that, Tom

Ember, Thanks for stopping by. The opening guitar figure is reminiscent of Bad to the Bone as well as Muddy Waters "I'm a Man" , Tom

I love the blues and I really love this. As David just said blues done right. This would fit right in the 1969 Filmore East venue! Humble Pie or The Allman Brothers would open for you! Your leads reminded me of Michael Bloomfield! You are one hell of a guitarist. I'm in total envy.

This is a keeper.

Mario, Bloomfield was the guy I tried to copy in my early years. I wore out those Butterfield records. The ABB are at the top of my favorites list. Thanks for the ongoing encouragement. I appreciate your support, Tom
