Hi All,
Here's a simple little song called Paper Plane.
[Link no no longer valid]Paper plane
Sailing high at midnight
Silver stars
Lighting our way
Take your seat
Say goodbye to the Apple
Close your eyes
We’re on our way
Painted words
All around the city
It takes time
Graffiti fades
Lift our wings
Up and over the Hudson
Close your eyes
We’re on our way
Paper plane
This is Captain Midnight
All the stars
Fading to grey
Feel the rain
It’s summer in the mountains
Close your eyes
We’re on our way
Paper plane
We’re on our way
La La La La
We’re on our way
La La La La
We’re on our way
Paper plane
We’re on our way

Nice, laid back tune sir. I really like that tremolo effect on guitar.
Great production on this Bob. Really enjoyed the story behind the lyrics.
Nicely done. Rob
Bob
Evocative and beautifully composed and arranged. Sounds great and a really enjoyable tune.
Peter
Steve,
Thanks - much appreciated.
Bob
Good song!
Is the tremolo guitar you? Sounds great.
Bob, I always enjoy your lyrics. You have a gift for transporting the listener to a different reality. Well done, Tom
Very cool tune Bob. Super vocal and lyric. Just loved the guitar. Super clean tone and that tremolo. Just awesome
Enjoyed that, Bob. Your songs are always like miniature movies...
That is a great band to carry it, too... good mix.
fj
cool stuff. I like the song.
Peter,
Much appreciated - thanks!
Bob
You continue to make great use of that baritone RT!
We absolutely loved this song...it took me (Bud) way back to the Captain Midnight I knew as a kid and wondered about at night looking at the stars...and of course I wore the decoder ring
If we could only decode things so easily nowadays...
Wonderful!
J&B
Dave,
Thanks - I appreciate that.
The tremolo sounding guitar is a Baritone RT - a great sounding instrument.
Bob
Your imagery is always so good
paints a great scene
like the choice of instruments that help set the mood
enjoyed,
Kenny
There's a spareness to this arrangement that compliments the wistful lyrics.
I'm always impressed how you can bring a poetic feel to your songs, but still keep them melodic and unforced.
Tom,
That's very kind - thanks.
Bob
Scott,
I appreciate the kind words - thanks!
Bob
Floyd,
Appreciate that - thanks so much.
Bob
Man, this is great Bob. I love your stuff man. Really takes me back in time.
Awesome lyrics and vocals.
I may borrow that Captain Midnight thing if I have permission, spin it out a bit....
Seems to me, Bob, I oughta be able to have a whole CD of songs like Paper Plane. I mean spin offs -- same voice, backing, guitar.
The lyrics are inspired, yet simple. Simple enough to be the basis of other songs. Then, what do I know?
I'm describing a CD you could just put on and let it play,
happily.
Ok Bob,
Captain Midnight is done and am doing vocals.
Will be up tomorrow.
This one is for you man.
Get ready.
David,
Thanks so much. Of course, take whatever you need.
Bob
I'm ready! Can't wait to hear it!
Bob
Bob, this is absolutely fantastic! Your mix and vocals are excellent but you lyrics took it over the top for me. This arrangement is also outstanding.
Two thumbs up.
Herb,
Thanks - much appreciated.
Bob
Janice & Bud,
Thanks. I'm so glad you liked this one. I appreciate the great feedback - means a lot.
Bob
Bob,
The good Captain was unfortunately not part of my upbringing, but no matter - this has a lovely wistful feeling that is simply uplifting!
Super vocal and production too.
Robert
Hi Bob.

Bob, I always enjoy your lyrics. You have a gift for transporting the listener to a different reality. Well done, Tom
Bob,
I fully agree with Tom. He's said what I've felt so many times when I listen to your songs but the words have never appeared in my mind. You really do have a gift for transporting the listener to another place. By anyone's definition, that explains what "skill" is all about!
All the best,
Noel
The lyrics have that irresistible nostalgic vibe to them, nicely done
Great work on this Paper! It is a stunning tune, and I love how you didn't over complicate it. The sparseness of it really gave it room to breathe, and allowed for the vocals and guitar to really strike hard. It's a very well written song, and the arrangement is seriously on point too.
You should be proud of this one - thanks so much for sharing
Mario,
Thanks for listening and commenting - it is very appreciated.

Wonderful songwriting. I love that baritone guitar as well. I want to use it in almost every song I record LOL!
The rest of the realtracks are spot on as well.
And the production is very clean.
Sounds great!
Lawrence,
Thanks so much - very appreciated.
