https://soundcloud.com/cliftondykes/mississippiThis is the site of Southern Fried, we used bib on the drums, bass, organ, and 1 guitar, the other 2 loud guitars are from us. Enjoy
Awesome tune. Loved the guitars. Excellent vocal and backtrack
Welcome to the forum.
Nice...got a hint of Tony Joe in there and for us that's a good thing.
Enjoyed it!
Thank You we have been listening to your trackson the cloud, great songs!!! Delaney and Bonney in a way.
Welcome to the forum.
Enjoyed this - nice groove and bluesy guitars.
Peter
Cool tune. The live guitars are a little loud and make it a little hard to hear the vocals in spots. Maybe adding some compression and placing it it lower in the mix would help.
Welcome to the forum.
You certainly brought a worthy first post along with you! I enjoyed listening to your work.
All the best,
Noel
Welcome aboard!! Great post! This was the first one I have heard from you. Though the title is Mississippi, I was instantly put in mind of some of John Fogerty's work...a great guitarist with a blues foundation. So many great blues player's have come from there you can't count them all. Great track! Thanks, Torrey
Thank You for the listen and comments samuel, well appreciated.
Man, this was cool.
I liked it almost as much as I like Fried Chicken and Waffles.
Thank You David, chicken and waffles, I don't know buddy, that aint right, that just aint right.,
When was the last time you were in North Carolina?
They would love to have you here, but if you don't drink a beer or two and have some chicken and waffles you are going to be highly suspect.
HA well it's been awhile since I have been in NC, worked some around Raleigh in 99, nice area, we will be back around there on vacation eventually.
Nice song. Yes, definitely reminded me of CCR.
Hi cliftond, a solid crunchin' riff! Very easy to listen and bob your head to. Very cool song! Well done!
You had this guitarist right from the git-go.
I liked everything about this one. Very nice guitar work!
I would like to say that the vocals could be brought more up front. You're a very good singer so showcase that more than your guitars; just my opinion.
This is a fantastic first post.
Two thumbs up.
Welcome to the forum! Great introduction! I agree with the CCR comparisons. Maybe a little J. J. Cale influence mixed in too. Really enjoyed this. Looking forward to hearing more.
Steve
Welcome to the site! great to have you here.
Cool song for your intro. The guitars definitely have that distinctive Fogerty sound - nothing wrong with that! being a lead guitarist, I was pulled in immediately. Congrats on a song well done!
Alan
Wow - what a tune! I'm definitely getting some Creedence Clearwater Revival vibes here. The groove on this is fantastic - and the title you gave this suits the tune perfectly.
Great work, and thanks for sharing
Welcome to the Showcase, y'all.
A good first post. I agree with the references to Fogarty, Tony Joe and Cale. That swampy riffin' thing...
Enjoyed.
