…and 2018 started with kind of a spiritual awakening:

The World Won't See

Sometimes I wonder…
Do I understand anything at all?

I don't know – but, I belive that perspective changes my view – and my heart changes looking at life between the crosses…

I'm no preacher, just a grateful songwriter that once again have to say thanks to PG Music and the whole team that makes BiaB – a truly great software!!!
BIG THANKS!

Still believing that the best songs are not yet written! Keep on the good work in this fabulous forum! :-)

Einar,

This is beautifully done!

Really nice use of BIAB tracks that we don't see folks using often. There needs to be MORE of this kind of music in the Showcase.

The outro guitar is nice. Is that you?

Excellent vocals. Excellent mix.

Excellent music!

Loved the low bass of this song, made it very strong. Your vocals and overall production were great! Thanks.

Super vocal Einar. Excellent song. Well done

This was great! I agree with Floyd that you took advantage of sounds we don’t hear that often here and the result is stunning! By the those vocals were perfect! Thanks, Torrey

This is a stunningly good production! The dynamics are so well done and the layers of sound very well mixed.Vocals and harmonies are excellent.
The overall feel reminds me of Peter Gabriel - at his best.

This is really from outside of the square!

Masterfully created and impressive from every angle.

I can hear the quality of The Moody Blues within the production.

Excellent, excellent, really excellent. You must be extremely pleased with your result. Genius personified.

Thanks a lot for your great feedback, Floyd!

I try to develop my songwriting in conjunction with BiaB – blending trad songwriting with new styles. And BiaB do deliver – a great creative tool for finding new paths in the mysterious songwriter-universe.

And yes, I do play the guitar.

This is fantastic song and arrangement. I had to listen to this on my headphones to hear all the fine details. Excellent work on the mixing also. Your beautiful voice really fits the mood. Reminds me of Eric Woolfson's musical work.

Wow - this is a perfect example of how diverse Band-in-a-Box truly is. I don't often hear songs like this on the showcase, and it really caught me off guard. I'm almost getting a Phil Collins vibe here (almost). It is incredibly unique, and honestly I don't think I would change a thing here. When it picks up at 1:50, it took it to a whole other level.

You seriously outdid yourself - thanks so much for sharing smile

This song has a really cool mix to it. I really enjoyed what you did with the entire song. Somewhat on the tails of what Deryk said, this is a very unique flavour we don't see a lot in the user showcase. This has been rather refreshing! Thanks for the share.

Outstanding, totally beautiful. I think the lyrics are Christian motivated but I could be wrong. I always like to read the lyrics, but I don't think you posted them anywhere.

Very refreshing approach.
Very cool vocals and very original percussion in this song.
Also detect a subtle Alan Parsons influence (and you can"t go wrong with that).

Thanks for listening, Steve – and for paying attention to the bass.

Had an idea of trying to use something different, more like a moving texture in the lower parts – and BiaB…
…well, BiaB took the idea to a new level.

Hi,

What a terrific change of pace for the forum! Simply beautiful - as Floyd said, more of this would be a good thing.

I fully agree with what Ron & Ann-Marie said. I think they said what I was thinking better than I might have said it. This is top-shelf all the way!

Wow – thanks , Torrey!
Discovered quite a few things working on the vocal parts for this project. Thanks for listening!

Robert – I'm not worthy! Peter Gabriel did Sledgehammer in 1986. That album had a great impact on me – and probably still has…, and you?
Thanks for the comment on layers and vocals. Did the mix on very low volume because of all the layers.

Thanks a lot for your nice words – and "the quality of The Moody Blues". Wow! :-)

Belladonna,

Thanks for paying attention to the song and the lyrics.
And big thanks to my dear friend Norma Berry, for language consultation! Here it is:

The World Won't See

You walked the Earth on naked feet
You saw those who had nothing to eat
You gave them fish, you gave them bread
You even raised the dead

You told the leaders they were wrong
You talked about a Kingdom to come
You returned to woman dignity lost
You were willing to pay the cost

But, the world won't see
The world won't see
Our eyes can't meet
It's you and it's me

You taught about a Fathers love
You were revealed by a stainless dove
You raised from the waters
You poured your Holy Spirit on sons and daughters

But, the world won't see
The world won't see
Our eyes can't meet
It's you and it's me

Jesus is Your Name
And I carry my shame
All my sins and my loss
I lay my burden at Your cross

But, the world won't see
The world won't see
Our eyes can't meet
It's you and it's me

But, the world won't see
The world won't see
Our eyes can't meet
It's you and it's me

We don't often use that word but every now and then it simply fits.

This is a remarkable production that features supremely effective use of RT's, great vocals and a perfect mix.

More!

Kudos

All I can add is this is a keeper.

PS - you are a great guitarist also.

Floyd's right on both counts-it is beautifully done, and we need MORE of it!! This is such creative and interesting music. I hear "my era" in there! Wonderful!! Take care. Greg

Good evening, "molsenhouse"...

Before I stumbled on composing lyrics and music for songs, I paid practically no attention to the production side of music recording -- all I cared about was the music, mostly.

But now, after listening to "The World Won't See" (what an attractive title!), it's clear that a song's production is crucial to the "success" of the whole enterprise.

The instruments were cleanly and clearly recorded and well-distributed through space. The sound effects gave the song a sense of cosmic importance.

I thought the vocal track was very well-sung, though I missed some of the lyrics. If Jesus heard your song, I hope it would speed up his return, so he could help us begin to repair this wayward world!

Sincerely,

LOREN

THANKS Mario!

During the recording process I paid more attention to the vocals, melody and the phrasing, than I ever done before. Usually, I pay most attention to the guitars.
I wrote this song on a steel string guitar, chased a "wall-of-sound" idea, but – LESS IS MORE! The lyric demanded a lot of "air/space", and I decided to follow a simple guitar line that developed through the arrangement. Starting with a nylon string guitar on the verses, changing to steel string on the chorus and finally electric guitar at the end. And I used more time on the vocals and the other sounds than the guitars in this project.

Though, I still consider me a more of a guitar player, than a singer ;-)

Hi Dani!

Nice to hear from you again. And thank you for commenting my song.
A-HA! I'm not worthy – they are still the biggest thing ever happened in Norwegian popular music history!!!
But, if you recognize a "northern a-ha sound" in this song – well, then I'm really proud!

Big WOW! I would never have guessed you used BIAB for this.

Excellent track, great production (love the way it builds), mix, vocal .... very impressive work, well done!

P.S. meant to ask, is that you playing the outro guitar? Great playing!

Molsenhouse

As I listened, all I could think was...

You took me on a musical voyage that was breathtaking, spectacular even. I sat here in from on my computer with my eyes closed and I just let whatever images your music created float through my mind. It was such a wonderful experience.

Your composing, your singing, the way that you arranged the music, the mix and the presentation all radiated with the highest level of professionalism. "Extraordinary" is a word that just sprang into my mind and applies so well to what I heard!

Stunning music!

Noel
