It is a simple but nice song using the golden chord progression of pops. (I - VIm - IIm7 -V7)
Perhaps I believe thousands of songs have been composed with this chord progression, but I think that your originality is expressed exactly in this tune and it is wonderful.

I remember you running a songwriting exercise which helped greatly to get me started.

Have discovered that songs are not really stories. More impressions and hints.
Like poetry I suppose and I have always dabbled with doggerel.
Have still got about 50 songs from old fawms and a 50/90 to finish/rewrite.
Don't like abandoning anything completely.
