The Bus

Soon, I'll be leaving these fragrant meadows;
Soon, to return to those ashen ghettos;
Soon, just a few short helpings of this dream.

Now, I've a foot in the far, vast greenways;
Now, I'm aghast at my quarentine days;
Now, do I sheepishly board THE BUS and go away?

This belongs to me..wonder why they didn't say:
"You're welcome any day!"
"Come on back to play!"
"Enjoy!".."This is your world, my boy!"

Man, I am loving these fragrant meadows;
Man, must I go back to those washed-out ghettos;
Man, can I bring the others to this dream?

I'm through the door!
THE BUS won't take me home anymore.
