Hi all. I dont have a great vocal range but am messing around with some falsetto on this one.
Does it pass? Not sure if the vocal is too loud? All comments welcome. Rob
Oh Please

Oh please remember me locked in a dark abyss without a key
Oh please remember me all I have to take is your memory

Chorus
The darkest time most lonely times I fall.
You have all my Love please take it all.

Bridge - Verse and chorus

Oh please don't be so unkind I been thinking bout you most of the time.

Oh please don't be so unkind all the roads I try to build you under
mine

Chorus
The darkest time most lonely times I fall.
You have all the Love please take it all.

In The darkest time most lonely times I fall.
You have all the Love please take it all.

Rob,

Everything sounds good. The vocal is nice (not too loud). Your falsetto definitely works!

That guitar solo is killer.

Nice arrangement. The strings are a nice touch - at the right time. Terrific mix. Nice song.

Rob,
Absolutely on point vocal for me ( wish I could do that Roy Orbison thing!) and a tasteful arrangement.
You are on a roll lately... and they are all good!

Bob,

I like the song and your singing. To me you sound like Bobby Bare on this one. I like that you sound continues to evolve with each song you release. The guitar work is nice too.

By the way, I think you vocal fits in the production, it's not too loud or back in the mix. For some other song you might want to change the vocal level but the level is consistent with the style of production you used for this song.

I have to agree with David Snyder and say that I really enjoyed how you said "Peh-lease"! grin It added a lot of character and fun to the song. I don't think that the vocals are too loud at all. I think it fits quite nicely.

Thanks for sharing!

Hello, Rob

Nice falsetto!
You succeeded in extending the range of your great voice.
And also very nice melody!
I like that you change to minor key in the chorus part.
But you return to the major key again soon.
As for me I wanted you to continue the minor key a little longer.
But that is merely my taste, please do not mind.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Really well done! I think the vocals are just right on this one, personally. The falsetto doesn't sound forced and the volumes sound excellent. That aside, it is wonderfully catchy and I love the chorus. Puh-pleeease! Definitely getting some Roy Orbison vibes here too, as David mentioned above.

All together a very professional sounding tune - thanks for sharing smile

Hello Shigeki. When I used the minor chord I couldn't find another minor chord to go along with it so I changed back to a major chord as you mentioned. Thank you for your great comment.Rob

Very cool tune.

This immediately hit me as having a Blue Bayou kind of groove. Roy Orbison as David said, is dead on. This also is right in the same vein as The Mavericks. Easily one of my favorite bands that never really got the acclaim they deserved.

Yep... nice work

Roy was immediately what I thought!! Even some of the unusual chord changes and the rhythmic groove are very "Roy". This is really cool, and vocals are wonderful!! Take care. Greg

Rob,
I listened to the intro a few times.I don't mind the guitar starting the song over one the side at all, when the 2nd one comes in it doesn't seem to quite match it for tone but that's OK because the bass & drums come in pretty quickly to fill the space.
I reckon you could duplicate the strings and put a set on the other side with a slight change to time, (a delay of a milisecond or three would be enough), or tone to get a BIG O effect. As they are the higher violin sounds closer to a pedal steel. I guess that's the difference between a string quartet and a clutch of violins. Alternately you could use an Automatic Double Tracking plug like https://www.kvraudio.com/product/adt_by_vacuumsound to do it for you. It takes a little fiddling to get the thing right but it's easier than actually double tracking.
The solo is excellent but ends a bar short. You could copy & paste the last note and extend it so it plays out or generate a tag part and import that to fill the empty bar.

Rob,

Love this type of tune; could listen to this one all day. You're too humble on your vocal--the range and falsetto work very well. Wonderful sound and production. The Roy Orbison call out is spot one—he would have killed this—but your lower pitch vocal holds its own easily. Great electric guitar solo as well. Terrific from start to finish.

Best Regards,

Deej
