Homecoming

This is the 3rd and final song in the trilogy; it's the Father's Song

====================

My young son who's been gone so long
Thought this life was wrong
Left to chase a song
Here's where he belongs
This home where all is his..
Life with me..

I delivered him all he's due;
Then off the land he flew
Drawn to something blue;
Pray that he won't stay too long away.

He's smart, wisdom in his heart;
After drink and tarts, I know
He'll return again, return again.

Oh, how I watch for my son's return;
My day to day concern ;
Then coming 'round the turn ,
Stumbling to his knees,
A shapeless man I see..
Could it be?

Now I know its indeed my son!
Out to him I run!
Welcome home my son!
Great to have you home--you're home once more.

And now, we'll kill the fattened cow,
Bring the robe and rings..let's feast!
My son's alive again, alive again!

Son, why sadden this happy day?
Your brother's been away;
Now he's home to stay!
Come enjoy the feast!
Show the boy what you've enjoyed:
Life with me.

I admit that I read the lyrics before I listened to the song to give it some context and to hear how the lyrics went with the music, and I admit I was not at all expecting the sound you went with based on the lyrics alone! I was pleasantly surprised.

Thanks for sharing.
Hello, Tom

Your Bossa Nova is always really pleasant.
It is always big fun for me to listen to your songs.
Singing style and the chord progression are very bossa nova.
They are exactly the perfume of Tom Jobim.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Shigeki Adachi
Shigeki and Ember, thank you for your comments, and thank you listening!
Really nice work Tano smile The bossa nova groove works surprisingly well with the vocal delivery and lyricism here. It is slightly unorthodox, but I really enjoyed it! A lot of personality on this one.

Great job, and thanks for sharing!
I had the same frisson as Ember. The infectious groove was a nice surprise.

John
John/Deryk..thanks for listening in and commenting, sure appreciate it!
Hi Tano, thank you for sharing this with us. I really enjoyed the harmonies and chord progressions. The electric piano is a great touch! Well done!
I love Latin Jazz and this Bossa it's a great example of the genre. As someone already said - infectious. This a super nice listen. Love the instrumental harmony on the lead riff. Very nice indeed!

Tano,

This song has a great vibe... Excellent mix and lyrics.

Bob
Super Latin jazz groove with a great chord progression and some mighty fine singing. What's not to like about this?

I really enjoyed my listen.
Appreciate your comments Masrio and Bob!
Tano,

Like others before me, I was captured by the uptempo bossanova groove. It's excellent! It invites toe-tapping, smiling and just feeling great!

I enjoyed the musical journey you took me on.

All the best,
Noel
