Awhile back I had approached Robert C about seeing if a new song I had done was suitable for lyrics. He liked the track and founs some lyrics that were appropriate. I had already named the song but he has some lyrics that he adjusted and they fit right in. We then asked Greg Johnson if he was up for singing it and he graciously agreed to sing the song.

Robert rearranged the song so it was more appropriate for lyrics. We also changed the key to be more suitable for Gregs vocal range.

I thought you might like to hear the original instrumental.

The instrumental is absolutely beautiful! It has a really light and airy feel to it. I really dig it. Thanks for sharing!

Scott I am a guitar instrumental kind of guy, but I loved both those versions.

Although you do get nice tones from your guitars, I do envy you as I am still fighting the tone war with mine.

Good playing.

Scott,

Interesting to compare the guitar sound on the two versions. There`s seems to be a bit more sustain on this one and ( I`m not famliar with the lingo ) notes have more twang. It fills the speakers more than on your original demo.
Its a very good melody ( next to "Unknown" my favourite of yours).
A calming, uplifting experience.

Wow! Just listening to this puts you in that wonderland. Very well executed. Rob

Scott, I grew up during the peak of the instrumental wave during the fifties and sixties. I am pretty sure I heard echoes of the Ventures or the Shadows, in the distance. Wonderful on both versions.

Really well done, Scott smile The title of this track certainly lends merit to the tune. It has a magical, sparkly quality to it. It is very floaty and dreamy - the kind of tune that is easy to close your eyes and get lost to.

You did a great job on this - thanks for sharing!

Sounds good, Scott. A good full-bodied tone.

Is the picture the new guitar? Looks good...

WOW, your chops and that sweet sounding PRS are a great combination! I am green with envy!

The vocal version is also extremely well done. You all should be very proud of these. Robert C, you wrote some fantastic lyrics that Greg sang perfectly.

I can't decide which version I like better!

Thanks for checking out the song. Finding a cool tone for a particular song can be as difficult as discovering the notes for the melody. But lots of fun playing with all the dials :-)
I must say I love the tone of your guitar on the songs you have been submitting..

Yes this guitar is a different sounding guitar compared to the Gretsch I used on the first submission. This one the is a bit darker and uses the effects pedals a little differently. Funny the amps and pedals are set exactly the same as the first song..

Wow! Both versions are terrific! I slightly favor the vocal version as I'm such a huge fan of Greg's voice. But the guitar work and the lyric are stellar. Tip of the hat and kudos to everyone.

Well done overall,
the reverb on the solo guitar is very tastefully done.

Very nice Scott, certainly brings to mind the golden age of guitar driven instrumentals, Hank Marvin comes to mind.

PRS sounds sweet!

We tend to initially be attracted to guitar tones we like and then move on to the actual playing.

You always have a feel for THE tone to support the feel of the composition and your playing.

Thanks for letting hear this version.

Very nice!

Thank you Gary. Definitely the Shadows and the Ventures shaped my loved of music and the guitar. The Surfaris Wipe out was one of my favorite songs we did when we were in high school.
Glad you liked the song.

Thanks Mario Glad you liked the song. This guitar is turning out to be a very versatile guitar. Humbuckers, Split coil, Piezo. has some very interesting sounds..

I also like the vocal better. With Roberts lyrics and Gregs vocal made it a very special song for me.

Scott,

This is beautiful. The tone of your guitar, and the lyrical way that you played it, sit so comfortably on the ears that I found myself closing my eyes and simply drifting through the images that you inspired.

I enjoyed this all the way.

All the best,
Noel

Thanks so much Janice and Bud for checking out the song. It is funny the tones I get from my equipment changes so much. I rarely change the settings on my amps, pedals or guitars. Each one has it only personality. It is very strange as I can be playing in the afternoon and everything sounds so good then come back after supper and the sound just looses it's feel. Don't know if it is humidity, temperature in the room or what but sometimes "its" there and sometimes sound is just flat as a pancake.

Hello, Scott

Very beautiful!
Just like the Shadows' tune.
As David (dcuny) says, it works well as an instrumental.
Greg's vocal version is also nice.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.
