2.20 is a long set up.
I'd gone beyond anticipation to almost giving up on hearing a guitar.
The guitar was cooooool when it finally arrived.
I don't know about the strings/orchestra following the main theme so closely.
The little trills don't quite work - too long/slow I think.
Nice guitar work.

Thank you rayc
Interesting points...
I'll try to do better.
Thank you

What a tune! I love how lush and full it sounds. It has an almost cinematic quality to it as well, I found. I could imagine this fitting in perfectly as part of a movie soundtrack.

Great job here - thanks for sharing smile

I thought it was quite nice, and held my attention through to the end. smile

Very beautiful sounding tribute, I like the build up, piano and guitar solo play nicely together with a melancholy tone.

Ermar,

This is nice.

You are playing the piano, correct? Really nice.

The strings are nicely supportive. Drums sound good. Cool guitar (as always).

Enjoyed it.

Thank you all guys.
Yes I'm playing the piano.
In fact, in this song, the guitar is an addendum.... I just can't avoid to play it.. :-)

Ermar,

A fine tribute...can`t help but wonder about the lyrics in your original, but I enjoyed the feel and gradual build of this.
Very nice piano playing.

EMG...I enjoyed listening to this tribute..how great to dedicate your work to your father...we should all do that! (to our OWN fathers, I mean!)

I thought the piano was handled expertly. To my taste, I think the guitar doesn't fit. The playing is great, but to my ear, its texture doesn't match up well with the more subdued and melodic piano/string combination. But, again, just my taste.

Thanks for sharing your work!

Hello again. If you'd not mentioned the guitar it wouldn't have been an issue for me. having heard you play & seen the reference I anticipated it which goes to the long set up comment.
Nevertheless it is cool stuff.

Ermar,

I love your piano playing. You have such a lyrical, Chopinesque style to your composing and playing. In so many ways, what I'm sitting here hearing right now reminds me of Richard Clayderman.... and I mean that as a HUGE compliment.

To my ears, everything about this fits perfectly -- the composing, the mix and the cinematic journey are all framed by a wonderful arrangement and a polished production. It's easy to hear that a great deal of thought has gone into this creation.

I thoroughly enjoyed where you took.

All the best,
Noel

Too nice as always Noel.
You keep me 100% motivated.
Thank you!

Hi Rayc.

I always accept critics when they're presented in a nice way.
Said that, I was not 100% happy with the strings.
I would've preferred a warmer presence of strings and a better integration with the piano, but I don't know very good how to use Studio One 3....
With a full time job, 2 kids and a wife, is difficult to achieve the sound I want in a few sessions.
I just don't have time, and if I wait longer to finish the song, is very probable that I'll never finish it.
Anyway, for me, uploading the music "the better way I manage to do it in a couple of days" is the better thing I can do it to keep composing...

Thank you again!

Hi Dani!

In Peru, place where I lived for a few years, Viejo is a way the son call his father...

A very famous song: Es un buen tipo mi viejo

Salud!

Hi Robertkc… the lyrics followed the piano par after the first notes.... I grow up with old Italian an peruvian songs (Wvalzer and boleros) so I've been influenced in a strange way.... when I compose and play the guitar I'm generally too much melodic. TOO MUCH! grin
Thank you for your feedback!

Very nice!! The melody that comes in around 1:30 is mesmerizing! Guitar is great!! Reminds me of something between the outro to Layla and Hotel California. EXCELLENT!!! Take care. Greg

Hello, Ermar

Very beautiful!
It sounds like Ennio Morricone's soundtrack.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.
