I just finished an 8 Day Sync Songwriting Challenge. I learned so much during this course and met some very talented people. I teamed up with a few of them writing and producing different songs. This one I co-wrote with Kim Williams from Ontario and got it performed and recorded by Kathrin Jakob an amazing vocalist from California. I used BIAB for the base of the song and then added some synths in Cubase. I think it came out really well and I hope to be pitching it for licensing soon.

Real Tracks:
1268:Bass, Electric, Pop Uplifting
1277:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm Pop Uplifting
Real Drums=Praise Worship Up Tempo
1272:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm Pop Uplifting Sync
1278:Synth Pad Pop Uplifting
1000:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm, Hard Rock LA Fuzzy Held

Lyrics:
(Verse)
Take back the night
Take back the light
Take back your innocence
It's time to make it right

Change up your path
Set a new course
Strike a match and let it light
Your heart and soul

(Chorus)
There's no time to waste
(No don’t waste it)
It’s time for a change
(A change is happening in me)
A new day has dawned
(grab hold before it’s gone)
It’s time for a change

(Verse)
There is only now
You'll make it through
Keep knocking down those doors
And make your dreams come true

Life can change fast
Like a flash in the night
At the speed of light
Just hold on enjoy the ride

(Chorus)
There's no time to waste
(No don’t waste it)
It’s time for a change
(A change is happening in me)
A new day has dawned
(grab hold before it’s gone)
It’s time for a change

(Bridge)
It’s time to make a change
It's time, make a change in you
It’s a new day a bright beautiful day
It’s time, make a change in you

(Chorus)
There's no time to waste
(No don’t waste it)
It’s time for a change
(A change is happening in me)
A new day has dawned
(grab hold before it’s gone)
It’s time for a change

Pretty cool but the vocal has a very strident, almost ice pick quality that is quite fatiguing. It's something you should be able to address with some EQ or something nifty like the PSP Vintage Warmer 2 that can saturate, EQ & saturate in one VST.
Otherwise - perhaps have a look in your best parametric EQ plug and tame those peaks a little.

Thanks for the feedback rayc. After working on a song all day its nice to have fresh ears listen. I made a few adjustments in EQ and Compression that I think helped a little bit.

Excellent tune. I really liked the vocal. Would like to hear more music from her. Excellent backtrack and lyric. Well done

Hi Samuel Davis, this was wonderful! I also found it very easy to listen to and the mix sounds well polished too. Good use of EFX on the guitar. The vocals harmonize well with the other instruments. Well done!

Samuel

A very polished production. Nice sounding guitars and a really nice mix.
Heard it post eq'ing and the vocal sounds good. Enjoyed the build up.
Nice work.

What a tune! Really catchy, and some incredibly good progressions here. Not to mention, that vocal performance is truly stunning. An immediate earworm, and the kind of tune I wouldn't bat an eye to if I heard on the radio.

Great work, and thanks for sharing smile
