I made something close to this groove many years ago together with my band. It was a real dance floor filler (and a kind of our signature groove at that time).

I used:
RT2607: Bass
RT514: Bass
RT2617: Guitar
RealDrums: FunkHalfNotePulse

I've added clavinet and extra drums and percussion.

I hope the sound is OK. I am not at home and had to mix it with headphones.

Hey Will!

Not to spoil it for later, but it sounds great.

Love the beat, and fun variations later on.

Actually reminded me of some 90's game soundtracks that were just as upbeat and catchy.

A good bed but it's begging for something over the top.

Thank you, Mikke,

I appreciate that you are listening to my music!

When can we hear something that you made?

Thank you for listening, rayc,

You are right if it was a groove meant for listening at home, but in a live situation in a club with a dancefloor it works great.

I actually tried to put something on the top with horns, soloists, etc. but nothing was satisfying, so I decided to go with it as it is.

Hello, Will

Nice beat!
I agree with rayc.
A good bed but it's begging for something over the top.
I think it will be very nice if there is the vocal over the top.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

I do understand Will,
However, you're offering it for listening at home, via streamer and probably through a computer sound card into headphones - not really a chain that leads to a dance floor.

Funkalicious Funkahol with a lemon twist.....Cool groove!! Take care. Greg

Wow - really well done! I have no doubts this definitely would fill the dancefloor up. Man does that bass ever slap, and I love the groove as well. Really playful and easy to take, and almost impossible for me not to tap my foot to.

Great work, and thanks for sharing Will smile

Dance floor fill, say no more.

I think it sounds pretty good! Impressive. Thanks for sharing!

This will definitely fill a dance floor. But for listening at home this needs a lead. I would suggest an instrumental lead.

Having said that this is extremely well put together. The instrumentation and mix are top shelf and the groove is one that forces you to tap your foot! Great job on this.

Sounds pretty good to me Will!! Great job putting it together! Thanks, Torrey

Well whatever, but sure sounds good to me understanding and agreeing that it could use a lead, but definitely a foot tapper. Well done.

Yeah this would get me dancing, except I look stupid enough standing still. Right now, I'd call it "production" music. That's where it stands. Get an online collab going. There are plenty of guitar-slingers who love playing on a good backing. That's what turned a lot of them on to BIAB.

Thank you all for the comments!

I think some of you didn't see my original post where I wrote that I have tried to recreate a groove from the past. That groove didn't have a lead of any kind and it wasn't necessary for the purpose which was to get people up and dancing.

I realize I shouldn't have posted it in this thread which is obviously more for tunes with vocals or a lead of some kind - and I apologize for that.

Now, please let this thread die in silence!

Thank you,
Will
