V1

Mercy calls me on the phone
and says she loves me
Mercy calls me right at home
and says she has me

PreChorus

I can feel her tender lips
And I can taste her honey kisses, ‘cause

CH

Mercy, she lifts up the sky
and Mercy, she brings me back to life
and I love Mercy
I love Mercy

V2

Mercy comes and brings
Yeah she brings the healing rain
Mercy comes for everyone
She says she’ll take away the pain, she'll take away the pain

PreChorus:

And I can feel her tender lips
And I can taste her honey kisses, ‘cause

CH

Mercy, she lifts up the sky
and Mercy, she brings me back to life
And I love Mercy
I love Mercy

Bridge

Come on everybody
You better open up your eyes
Open up your eyes

Ch

Cause Mercy, she lifts up the sky
and Mercy, she brings us back to life
and I love Mercy
I love Mercy

I love, I love
I love, love
I Love Mercy

David,

This is tremendous! Love the big rock-ballad feel of this. Great vocal and love the instrument selection.

Almost sounds like a long lost Elvis Costello song...

So excellent!

Hi David,

Is this a cool song, or what! It has a certain retro feel yet a contemporary flavor. Love the bass line and the drums in particular. of course your lyrics are always among the berst on the boards. lots of power ballad in the vocal. Sweet!

David

Huge vocal with a very nice backing. Liked the subtle strings and the overall arrangement.
Really impressive.

I love the sound of the D&B 1st verse - a great set up.
A "hurt" vocal - works really well.
COOL on all levels.
Posted By: Tangmo Re: Mercy - 11/02/18 09:16 PM
What would we do or be without her?

Your vocals sound like you left it all in a puddle in front of the mic and backed away shaking.

Good stuff.

David,

You've certainly pulled out all stops with this presentation. The arrangement and the production are powerful and your writing and singing sits really comfortably in this powerhouse setting. Energy beams out everywhere! "Dazzling" is the word that just sprang into my mind.

All the best,
Noel

Mr. Snyder...

Your vocal in "Mercy" is simply a show-stopper. Truth be told, it startled the hell out me, because I never heard you belt out lyrics in that way, before. Jesus. You really opened yourself up.

The music was touched with glory, emotionally speaking. All the RealTracks instruments seemed to pick-up on your incredible inspiration. You better marry that woman blush !!!

This is passionately-conceived, near-overwhelming song-making, Mr. Snyder. Made me stand back to listen to it.

Hi David Snyder,
Yup, you belted that one out of the ball park! Nicely done!
Posted By: BlueAttitude Re: Mercy - 11/03/18 08:24 AM
Excellent, David!

Great dynamics! Love the way you build the track, the mark of someone that really knows what he is doing.

And man, those vocals! Just dripping with emotion.

Very, very good smile

Beautiful chording, simple lyrics - kind of a love song. Passionate vocals, superb mix - the bass sounds especially great.

You are killin' it, son...

Killer vocal - your best, perhaps.
Excellent production - one of your best.
Nice mix.
COOL song. Terrific Rock write - you seem to step that up with each new write.

I think I may be repeating myself from your last song. Which means you are notching it up with each new release. Few people do that. Impressive.

One of your best. Everything fits to the arrangement and one of the best showcases of an true emotional performance i've heard in a while. This is one of those songs that done any other way would have been 'wrong'. Excellent write, arrangement and performance. This one really transcends normal and is a keeper.

Good one, David.
Congratulations on having been selected as one
of the Best New Alternative Artists on ReverbNation
for 2018.
I feel this is an important acknowledgement because
as a creative artist and musician, it is important for the
audience to have a "brand identity," if you don't mind my
using that term, or an identification of the creative force
behind the production. The best way to achieve this is,
of course, to keep listening to David. Thanks for the gifts.

David, I love how you pour it all into your performances..wish I could do that! I like how you conflated Mercy with concept and woman—I think that was your intent. Also, impressed at the completeness of your production...ready for release, no doubt. Thanks for showcasing your intensity!
Posted By: David Snyder Re: Mercy - 11/04/18 11:56 AM

Thanks Bob! I never thought Elvis Costello, but now that you point it out, I see what you mean!

That's a huge compliment! Thanks for the listen and glad you liked it.

YES!!!! You are killin' it!!! The lift from the verse to the chorus is EPIC!!! What kind of synth is that doing the pad/brass sound? Just a knockout song!!! Take care. Greg

Tangmo,

Indeed, what would we be or do, without her..

David,

Terrific stuff here--full of heart and passion. To me, it's got a little bit of a Counting Crows vibe here, with just a touch of Costello. From a production standpoint it's stellar. Just a thought, but I wonder what this might sound like if you kept it just a tad more reserved in that first verse and chorus, then build from there.

But really, you hit on all cylinders on this one. Great tune!

All the best,

Deej

Hey Tangmo,

Well I guess an imaginative mind could interpret this several ways...but no...there was not a puddle...

But, I guess I was shaking some because I had a wicked bad cold when I did this, that's where the scratch came from.

Thanks Kenny!!

Actually...

Bono was mad that he didn't write this, especially when I told him his more recent stuff didn't have enough Edge.

Maybe we will make up later. I don't know man. He seems kinda mad at me right now.

Kidding!!!
