I composed this tune a few days ago and originally had organ backing, but IMO the strings give it much more depth.
Story behind the title is explained on youtube.

Clava Cairns
A very soothing composition & video...
I also enjoyed reading the history of Clava Cairns...
Very interesting...
Thanks, Graham
Another beauty, my friend. Thanks for sharing. Loved it.
Hello Graham, fantastic choice of instrumentation on this. The arrangement is a pleasure to listen to and the instruments are layered nicely. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Jim, This is my classical side coming out. Glad you enjoyed it. The cairns are a few miles from where I live
I really like listening to this track - very nice composition!

Forgive me the ignorance, but is it the John Barry who composed music to some of the James Bond movies you are referring to? If yes, then I do understand the connection and your inspiration. He made some very well composed soundtracks but I don't know him very well besides his music for those movies.

Thank you for sharing!
Will
Graham,

A very beautiful composition!
Nice use of Choirs.
I am also a big fan of John Barry.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Hiya Don, thanks my friend

Hi Will, Yeah John composed a lot of the Band movie scores, plus hundreds of others, one of my favourites being The John Dunbar theme from dances with wolves, out of Africa and many others
A pleasant listen, Graham. The scenery is amazing.
Hey Graham, this is a beauty. Cinematic feel all the way. thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the listen Mike
Good stuff, Graham! You are just so good at this genre.

I enjoyed reading the backstory too, and watching the images.
Hi, Graham !

What a beautiful tune !
This is one of your
absolute best instros
I´ve heard so far !:))

As for Scotland, I love that
country and, as you may know,
I was not to meet my loved
one at the shores of Loch
Lomond ever again as she
was subdued by cancer and
so we could never make that
trip back again !

Your tune had this nostalgic
effect on me as has the mere
Scottish landscape that I
do love being half Norwegian
myself !:))

Cheers
Dani
Wow - this is stunning, Graham smile It has so much character, and is so lush and full. You really do excel at this style of music, and this song certainly showcases that. I can't think of a single thing I'd change.

A beautiful and solid tune - thanks for sharing!

No problem Graham! Do you use any outboard gear or was all this processed ITB?
Hi Graham
Beautifully done. Very John Barry in a Dances With Wolves kind of way. Delightful, as always.

Hi Joe, For strings I usually use reason 10 and I mix it all in sound forge 10. I don't use any other external equipment nor any specialised mixing software just what I've mentioned in the past.
Ocassionally I'll use sonar X12 just for a wee change for recording midi but reason is my favourite and has been since the old reason 3 days

Thanks guys so glad you enjoyed it
Graham,

I'm a little late getting to this one. I've been a bit bogged down by my school teacher duties lately. What an aesthetically pleasing piece! Everything transitions smoothly through the sections. Very enjoyable!
