Hi all. A new song from the new Xtra Set 7

They'll Raise Up A Mountains Songtrader

They'll Raise Up A Mountains soundcloud

They'll sink a deep ocean to keep me away from you.
They'll raise up the mountains to keep me from getting through.

But there's Nothing to stop how I feel
To you my sweet love I appeal.
Oh they'll raise up the mountains to keep me from getting to you.

Bridge

But there's Nothing to stop how I feel
To you my sweet love I appeal.
They'll raise up a mountains to keep me from getting to you.

They'll plant thorny briars in hope of slowing me down.
They'll dig a deep canyon to force me the long way round.

But there's Nothing to stop how I feel
To you my sweet love I appeal.
They'll dig a deep canyon to force me the long way round.

They'll bind with shackles and take my freedom away.
They'll cut off the sunshine so I cant see my way

But there's Nothing to stop how I feel
To you my sweet love I appeal.

A fast folk rock waltz RealStyle featuring a five-piece rhythm section of
mandola, mandolin, acoustic guitar, acoustic bass, and pop rock drums.
The mandola, mandolin, and acoustic guitar all strum with a similar
and steady pattern, creating a thick folk-rock sound.
Acoustic bass sticks to the root notes, playing on the downbeat or chord change.
PopRockWaltzMarch play snare rolls leading up to the snare hits.
This song is in the key of C and uses pop and slash chords
that occur every 3 to 9 beats.

Nice one Rob,
the whole thing hangs together really well. Your vocals are a treat.
Hi Rob,

This is really enjoyable listening. It's a terrific style and you've written a fine composition to showcase it.

As always, your vocals shine! When it finished, I sat here thinking, "It's a pity it ended so soon!"

All the best,
Noel

Classic folk song feel and lyric structure. My favorite line was 'they'll cut off the sunshine so I can't see my way,". Great vocals, too.
Rob

Nice work and as usual a top notch vocal. Nice composition and all round production.

Peter
I really like the memorable melody and nice imagery, like an old folk song from an old Western movie. Good band, good vocals and mixed nicely in vintage style.

Janne

This was just right up my alley, I loved this the repeat backing vocals and the lead vocals, lyrics, and the kiss.. keep it short and simple, 60s style makes you sit there at the end and want more ?..so you just play it again.

Thanks

Rob,
An excellent write-my favourite lines:

They'll plant thorny briars in hope of slowing me down.
They'll dig a deep canyon to force me the long way round.

Everything works from your deep vocal to the rocking waltz band.
Very good!

Robert

Well done production. Vocal style fits well with the lyrics and song style.
Enjoyed the listen.
Wonderful traditional sounding Irish folk song!! Really love the arrangement you put together (including BG vocals)! The drums seem to bite a bit too much at the high end to me. Really, really great work!! Take care. Greg
Love the Production and particularly love the backing harmonies really well mixed ,H

Love this . . . has a nice Johnny Cash, old county feel to it, genuine and true. Really like those lyrics . . . engaging tune; just really, really well done.

Great song. I love the feel. Great lyrics. Your voice kind of reminds me of Johnny Cash.
For a start, this is a terrific song Rob. The tune, the structure, the lyrics - everything is great.
Then add your vocals and that hypnotic backing and you've got a classic.
A few reviewers have said the song left them wanting more, and that's exactly how I felt when it finished.
Cheers,
Mike
