Hi all,
Here's a french song sung by Christian Braut.

https://soundcloud.com/christian-devienne/les-souvenirs-remontent

Here's an approximate translation :

Stored in a drawer,
memories come back.
I draw deep in my memory
what it tells me.
All is not rosy,
all is not black.
Morose moments,
joys and hopes ...
That's my story.

So, I feel nostalgic
or melancholic.
But it's my life and I assume it.
Time is consumed.

Stored in a drawer,
memories come back.
I draw deep in my memory
what it tells me.
But my story
is not finished.
Remain victories,
and defeats too.
Such is life !

Fantastic, a really great ballad, with feeling and expression.

The breaks slotted in really well.

Overall, a really great production.

Really well done! I agree with VideoTrack above me - the feeling in this one is fantastic. It flows smooth as butter, and your mixing job is top notch here.

Thanks for sharing smile

A very intimate sounding vocal.
I can picture him leaning on the mic stand as he does the intro.
This song comes complete with cigarette smoke, damp walls and Dubonnet on ice.

Christian,

Really well done—your usual excellent job on the music and mix. The vocal sits in the mix just perfectly and your singer really sells this one. Interesting and thoughtful lyrics as well. Good song and excellent collaboration. Well done!

My best to you,

Deej

Hi Christian,

This is excellent!

Everything about this sits incredibly comfortably together. Early on, the mandolin grabbed my attention and my imagination and set the tone for a very enjoyable musical journey.

Wonderful listening.

Regards,
Noel
