That was fun - lizard/reptile brain & Fight or Flight response were BUZZ word of the late 80s early 90s.
Interesting arrangement - it worked the best when sparse. The rhythm guitar is, perhaps, too normal, (might need some DUB in & out of the mix, massive reverb/delay treatment to be less ordinary).
Good stuff.

Ha,
That's unique for sure!
Ya know, the number one artist these days is Billie Eilish.
I think you could give her some competition:

This surely wakes up my lizard brain with very hypnotic rhythm, I hope there are no subliminal commands smile Different, strange yet modern, unique sound landscape. Excellent use of BIAB.

Unique!
I love it...
And I imagine you had a lot of fun putting this one together!

Where in the world did you come up with the concept?

It sounds like something Rayc would do.
Posted By: Jim Re: Lizard Brain - 01/19/20 07:30 PM
I had to come back & listen again...
I like the palette of sounds you've put into it...
Very cool!

Hi Janne.
Now there's an idea I must try.
Embedded subliminal commands.
Thanks for such positive comments.
Cheers.

Hi Jim.
Thanks for the support.
Just trying to figure out how to use RealBand and Realtracks again, forgotten over the last couple of years, keeping the lyrics to the minimum. I do enjoy these toys. Cheers.

Hypnotic stuff, RichMac!
In the start I thought 'what the heck is happening here?'
But then I got hypnotized by the melody.
That was the good thing about it, the bad thing is now the phrase 'Lizard Brain' stays around in my head.
I wonder for how long...

A weirdly charming refrain that; it sounds like you had fun with the effects.I was expecting a really heavy drum track/more grunge guitars to come in, but enjoyed the hypnotic repetitions.

Hi Hans,
Wish I knew. 'That phrase' has been bouncing around my head for weeks now. Thanks for listening and commenting.
Cheers.

Man, is that ever entertaining. We were wondering how to express
our thoughts, went and read the comments and it would be hard
to beat what Janne said!

We have a large tin lizard as "yard art" and I don't think we'll ever
walk by it again w/o thinking of this song! smile

Fun.

I love it when the lyrics are kept to a minimum smile
Now try to find time to write another one of your unique songs!

Hi J&B
Thanks for the listen so glad you enjoyed this bit of fun.
50 years ago my Dad while longlining around Karewa island just off the coast here went ashore, its the home of the tuatara lizard, and brought one home for us to see. It was amazing big old cold and wrinkly. 2 to 3 feet long. And still. Then he discovered they were protected (big fines) so very quietly and quickly returned it to the island. Hes long dead now but I suspect the lizard is not.
Best to you both.

Hi Greg
Thanks so much for checking and commenting. Cheers.

Hi E's Storm
Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers.

Hi PeterF
Really glad you enjoyed it and thought it developed ok.
Cheers.

Hi Al Dude
Thanks for your kind words.
Heres the thing.
I can't match or copy the skillful and talented singers, lyricists and producers on this forum so have to try and do something different.
Best wishes.

Wow - what a dizzying and uniquely engaging song! Very interesting delivery, but the melodies are fantastic. Truly unique in every sense of the world. Makes for a really fun listen.

Thanks for sharing smile

Richard,

You have always been one of the most original and interesting artist around here. This is a good example of just that.

Excellent use of BIAB to create "new" music.

Thoroughly enjoyed that.

Well, well, well - this one is really different .... Very funny !!!! One might think at first listen taht something like this can be easily done - I don't think so - must have taken some time to put this one together...

Cheers,

Hi Stefan
I generally spend 4-6 weeks on a song. Trying this trying that then removing what I can. This is what i enjoy.
All in RealBand.
Thanks for the interest. Will check out one of yours. Cheers.

Hi Richard,

It's so good to see you back in the forum a little more regularly smile

Every time I listen to one of your songs, I always come away with a tonne of ideas for my own creations. You have a wonderful ability to inspire and I really appreciate that.

Listening to this, it was easy to hear that you had a lot of fun putting the music, words, arrangement and performance together. Once again, you mesmerised me with your creativity. Thank you.

All the best,
Noel
