Hi All,

This is called Let Go Blues.

You think it’s easy living with our dreams
If you do give me the secret to your scheme
I’d be happy just to walk these city streets
Together or alone or up a creek
I guess I’ve made up my mind don’t you know
We should drift like the cold wind blows the snow

But, you don’t have the nerve to let me go
I don’t have the speed so I go slow
You don’t have the spark you don't have the glow
But, I don’t have the nerve to let you go

You give a city skyline time and it will rise
If you look away it will fall before your eyes
I’m lost without the words you can’t speak
Together or apart or in defeat
I guess it’s complicated I don’t know
We should count our time that flies like the crow

But, you don’t have the nerve to let me go
I don’t have the speed so I go slow
You don’t have the spark you don't have the glow
But, I don’t have the nerve to let you go

You think it’s easy work to stay the course
If we converse we’ll only up hoarse
I’d be lying just to tell you something neat
Together or between or week to week
I guess the thread unraveled don’t you know
We should let city lights show what they show

But, you don’t have the nerve to let me go
I don’t have the speed so I go slow
You don’t have the spark you don't have the glow
But, I don’t have the nerve to let you go

This one popped up on my phone just now. Very cool intro Bob. Super vocal and lyric. Guitar was excellent

Love that baritone guitar. Nice mix.

"You don’t have the spark you don't have the glow
But, I don’t have the nerve to let you go"

That's a good lyric!

The baritone is ace.
A lovely collection of contradictions.
I must admit to being partial to perfect rhymes.
Good, good song.

Hi Bob,

This is what blues is made for; misery, but told in an attractive way!
and that is what you did in this song. A bariton guitar is also perfect in it, and so it fits very nice in your song.
But its your voice that underlines that misery. You almost feel as if it is happening to yourself when hearing you sing like this (consider this as a compliment ;-))
About the lyrics: I would have left her. Can't live like that...

Man, I love that baritone! Everytime I hear you use it makes me want to buy one.

Great track, Bob! Love your music.

Nicely done - loved the guitar work here. I'm a sucker for blues, and this definitely scratched that itch. Some good lyrics too, and the mix is concise and professional sounding.

Thanks for sharing smile

Oh, so nicely done, Bob. Great choice of band, and, yes, that baritone really makes it. [AND, YES, I THINK DAVE SHOULD BUY ONE.] Wonderful vocal with a lot of feel.

Another good one, Bob.

Excellent vocal delivery. Good mix.
That baritone solo sounds like you hired someone to do that specifically for the song.

Enjoyed.

Love the imagery. Especially love "We should drift like the cold wind blows the snow" "We should count our time that flies like the crow" "We should let city lights show what they show", as a lover of lyrics you always come up with some great lines. Glad to see you're still on top of your game.

Bob,
A very good write- the chorus says so much about the relationship with a few words - and your delivery carries the sadness.
As always that baritone sounds made for your music.
Another fine song; you are on a roll!

"But, you don’t have the nerve to let me go

...But, I don’t have the nerve to let you go"

An excellent and creative way of stating the conundrum.

A different take all the way through on the we both don't know
how to get out theme.

Your plaintive vocal carries the melody well and your
signature baritone guitar is very nice. The background
style is all you need for something a bit more than
just rhythm.

Oh, and, of course a fine mix!

Enjoyed it.

Your lyrics are always emotional, but this is extra strong, touching story, great poetry. And your voice is full of emotion and vulnerability, I also like how it is mixed clearly so that I can hear all those nice nuances. The band, especially the baritone guitar, support the melancholy mood perfectly.

Hi BoB ...

My mind always smiles and wonders what the next pleasure is gonna be, then it sees a new one from you and it knows it's gonna like the hell out of it, no matter what it is. Because it's from Bob Dean. And that insures a fantastic treat. I just clicked onto this and my mind lit up, knowing a real pleasure was in store. And indeed, it is a real pleasure .. a real treasure.

The lyric is in such great prosidy with the music tracks. Everything in this fits like a hand in a glove. Great song ... great sing ... great listen. Excellent work and performance, Bob ... fabulous! I totally enjoyed that. best of luck and keep writing. I'm a fan.

Bob, this may be your best to date. I could hear the pain in your voice in this one. Great job on that. Also a big shout out for your lyrics. This was super all the way around.

Oh boy! First thought: so ORIGINAL. Superbly and so originally executed and sung, so original and beautiful in its writing ... sad and dark, just how I like it. The voice quality was also perfect for this song, I thought. One of THE masterpieces of recent times of this forum. Bravo.

The first line really resonated with me, I thought it was brilliant. You've got your own sound, it's been said many times - the guitar really added to that. Another really good one!
