Well I got the Ultra Pak finally HA, I have waited for the sales to get good and they did. I now have everything that BIAB has, all the real tracks, Styles , all the xtra styles, loops etc. Yeah if I can hear it , then, I have it. and love it!!! This song uses the Texas Blues Rock, kind of a ZZ Top sound, the OOhs and AAhs in the background are certainly nice to be able to use. Enjoy CLiff

Good song, I like the groove. Vocal could use a little more presence I think.

Maybe you could post the lyrics at some point?

Cliff,

This is a good Rockin' track! A good balance on the mix.
(I think Dave is right - a little more reverb and some slight delay on the vocal would be a nice touch. You've got it at the perfect level...)

The Ooohs work great.

Cool song. One of your best. Enjoyed the listen...

Cliff,
Definitely ZZ'topish smile solid rocker! Arranged and performed very well.
Oohs/Aahs fit nicely. Thank you for sharing.

Fun blues rocker!

Nice mix too.

Have fun with those new RT's and Styles.

You are certainly off to a great start with them!

Sounds really good, I also would like to see the lyrics printed out. Thanks!

cliftond,

The vibe is really good here; nice engaging riff. Good Southern Rock/Blues feel to this one. I’d love to see what RTs you are using for this—guitars have a lot of presence to them. Vocal level sounds good to me as well, but Dave and Floyd have good suggestions to tweak it a bit. Cool tune!

Cheers!

Thanks to everyone who gave a listen!!!! Yes I will do a little tweaking of the vocal this weekend. Here are the lyrics

5000 years have come and gone
since I last walked by the Pharaohs throne
chosen to be his advisor
by his God

In a blink of the eye
I built his tomb
block by block to the upper room
The slaves worked hard under the whip and rod

Chorus
Royal Egypt rose up from the desert sand
Fed by the rivers water the wheat would stand
Oh that mightly Nile washed my hands
Of the bloody end to the Pharohs plans

I stepped into his garden at dawn
waiting for him, my dagger was drawn
As he walked by,
I spoke his name

He smiled at me and motioned me near
I came close and he showed no fear
The dagger and I both took
His glory and Fame

Chorus

That retard/pause in the riff is cool but I can't work out of the right hand guitar is meant to fill the gap or ape the pause.
It's not quite either.
Regardless the Bloody Boogie works.

Great track Cliff! I beg to differ on the ZZ Top reference, this is Stones all the way (Keith Richards). No matter what you put up I love! Keep on rockin ' Thanks, Torrey

Hello Cliff ...

This is really top notch, my friend! You're already getting your money's worth out of your upgrade. This is your strongest post thus far, as far as I'm concerned. You've already mentioned you'd revisit the vocal touches, so need to go there. I'll just say I agree with the suggestions already offered. And really great use of the ooohs and ahhhs!

Thanks for a bad-a$$ listen! Best to you. Be safe ...

Southern rock sound and a story set in ancient history, strange but an enjoyable combination smile Excellent chording and great work to make the band play it perfectly. Great work also with the background vocal RTs. I heard also some Neil Young in there.
