Hi All,
Here's something called
Hey Now Girl.
You know I need the rain today
Gonna cleanse my blues away
Give it slow and get it done
Hey now girl
Am I the one
I can't watch the news today
Gonna turn it off turn it away
Give it light under the sun
Hey now girl
Am I the one
We don't hold more than today
Gonna push our cares away
Give them chase and make them run
Hey now girl
Am I the one
You know I need the rain today
Gonna cleanse my blues away
Give it slow and get it done
Hey now girl
Am I the one
Give it slow and get it done
Hey now girl
Am I the one
Give it slow and get it done
Hey now girl
Am I the one

Hi Bob
Absolute Top Song
Sounds great
Very nice sung
In addition the very catchy melody
Really good
Many greetings
Andi ;-)
Bob,
Can't imagine how anything about this could be any better.
Good lyric, good vocal, good BAND, good production, good mix.
A lot of the TV shows we watch these days have current "alt" type music playing during some scenes and at the end when the credits roll....
This could EASILY be used for that.

Hi rsdean,
Very pretty song. The harmonic progression is nice. It's pleasant to listen to.

I read the lyrics first and then the instruments and saw a couple dance tracks listed. Got a little worried but as soon as I heard the song start, I was assuaged. Classic Bob Dean. A real pleasure to get on the forum page and find a new song of yours waiting. Makes my day. Great work as always.

YEP!! That's what I say --especially about the "credit song" thing. Really good song on all of those levels, Bob.
and-a-one and-a-two and-a-three and-a-four
Sweeet!, Robert.
Andi,
Thanks very much.
Bob
This classic you.
The drums don't seem to fit to my ears...perhaps to forward in the mix or too present.
Nice progression and melody.
I like the song and your vocals, and the production is pretty good.
I would prefer the vocals to be less "in your face" to better fit the atmosphere of the rest of the band, but that's just a personal preference.
I noticed while listening that I'm always waiting for something that doesn't happen.
I think the song structure with 5 verses (and 2 acoustic interludes) would benefit from a chorus to satisfy the waiting.
a very pretty song.
liked the paceing and instrumentation.
in places i sensed more whispery vocs.
very nice song.
happiness.
om
Bob...great production! your vocal is stellar and the I love the use of the steel...cool melody and the marching snare gives it a really good pace to move along on...really terrific song!
I like this song, Bob!
I agree with Floyd: I can hear this song as credits roll at the end of a show.
Production sounds mighty good. I like the guitar at the start and the build as the song progresses.
Brilliant, brilliant. I loved it. Made me a little more upbeat than I was before listening to it. And if you can do that with music (no matter whether the song is happy or sad), you've done your job, I think. Bravo. Going back for a second listen now :-) Thanks for sharing :-)
Floyd,
Thanks - I appreciate that!
Bob
Great production Bob! I liked it all the way through. I thought you did a fantastic job of building the instruments right from the beginning. The guitars sounded really good and I thought you chose a really good drum track to carry it through. Your use of the steel was stellar. It presented a sound that really sticks in your head. Thanks for posting.
Brad
Hi Bob,
Very nice song, well sung!
I like the steel guitar.
Well done.
Anne-Marie
Always enjoy your songs, Bob. Love the use of pedal steel in this one.
Regards,
Leon
Hey Bob,
I really enjoyed this with your signature style as an artist.
I don't agree with the comment that asked for a chorus. As this is folk and singer-songwriter, you have both the right and a huge latitude to focus on the vibe and the feeling, which you have done and which is your forte.
Also, the vocals are the highlight of the song, also part of your signature, and don't need to be different in any way.
I am about call to Dylan to tell him he needed a better chorus in Blowin' in the Wind, and it would sound better if he had used an artificial female robot vocalist for the vocals, and a sound that sounded a little more like Duran Duran, with more bass-y stuff.
Never stop being yourself man.
Hi, Bob !
What a superb tune Bob !
IMO it is your best
(at least of those I have
heard)! I was harmonizing to
it (automatically) how nice a tune
really !
Cheers
Dani
Having you here on the forum is like having our own private John Prine. You're one of the best secrets on the forum the world would be gifted to have. I always look forward to your releases. This is great from start to finish.

You are unique and brilliant in my book, I'm a fan.
Bob,
Those strong rhymes and simple lyrics lets the listener float away on your catchy melody.
No one does upfront vocals as well as you,and the arrangement is beautifully done.
Loved this!
Robert
Ray,
Much appreciated.
Bob
B.D.,
Thanks for listening and the feedback.
Bob
The melody and instruments support your vocal and lyric so perfectly. Janice was swaying back and forth while listening.
The steel is a wonderful addition.
We love these lines:
“You know I need the rain today
Gonna cleanse my blues away”
We've been on a bit of an Americana binge of late and as we always look forward to your new songs this was very special.
Excellent!

Bob,
Love this one--nice 70's vibe going on with this. Great opening two lines, and the rest that follows is equally impressive. Cool vocal, crisp production. Like that pedal steel as well. Bravo!
All my. best to you--
Deej
Nice to hear an upbeat song from you for a change
Catchy melody, I could imagine singing this on the backseat of a car during a long journey home, sad that it is over, but happy how it was. Nice modern sounding arrangement. Great vocals. Beautiful drawing on the Soundcloud page.
Janne
Scott,
I appreciate that - thanks.

And the mix sounds super. Love the depth and sheen.
Got to play this one for Don he's gonna love it too.
Ignore the nitpickers. This is top drawer.
There are songs and there are songs...these don't come along everyday.

YES!!! Love the way that pedal steel floats above that steady drum beat!!! Fantastic!!! Take care. Greg
Greg,
Thanks - very appreciated.
Bob
Bob,
Loved it from the opening notes! The use of that steel when the drums kick in is a great choice! It really binds the song together! Love your lyrics and vocal! You are great at writing these types of tunes!
Thanks, Torrey
