OK I am from another planet, but I just find that the child's game "Cat's cradle"
is sooo similar to the art of piano.

If you think of the finger positions on the cat's cradle as analogous to a finger position on a keyboard or fretboard, then you think of the strings on the cradle as the harmonic connections, all going to build a cat's cradle story.... each position you make is a necessary precursor to your friend being able to pick out another shape..In the same way as the voicing of one chord limits and channels the possibility of the next chord....

Interesting visual image of music progressions..

Its weird listening to the instructions with this in mind..

Kind of like the cycle of 4th's/5th's? People are always asking how I can follow another player without any chord sheets or anything to follow, even if I've never heard the song before.

I tell them, "when the chord is about to change, there's only one or two places it CAN go. It's not that hard to figure out."
