BIAB plays through the audio card in the Roland SD-50 but cuts out the keyboard controller (MIDI IN)! While I continue to study the SD-50 manual, has anyone already solved this?

Problem likely lies in setup menus of 50 or controller, it is not likely sending MIDI data if you've selected the right MIDI input from the BB MIDI/Audio setup window's LH side.

Also might just be that the controller is sending on the wrong MIDI channel for BB, which can be viewed/changed via Prefs->MIDI channels, you would be concerned here with the Thru channel only. This can be solved by not changing the BB setting but changing settings in the controller itself to send on ALL MIDI channels rather than just one.

I doubt if the problem is actually a BB problem here, unless you've changed too many of BB's default settings. If you think that may be the case, use BB's Options menu and select Return to Factory Settings, that should clear it up.
