Hi

I am brand new to Band in A Box
and it appears there are a Zillion buttons...
:-)

I have a very newbie question.
I think I know the answer but here
goes anyway...

It is probably answered somewhere, but
I haven't seen the answer yet.

Is it possible to import an mp3
from an album into BIAB?
And, if so, can BIAB analyze the chords
and crank out a lead sheet?

My musical ear IS getting better but
it would be cool if the program could
help figure out some of the harder
chords to play

Doesn't have to be perfect, but
in general is this possible in
BIAB?

thanks for any advice.

Yes
Try the Audio Chord Wizard (ACW)
Your results may vary, but it should give a good starting point.

Wow
Thanks

That is really cool.

I just tried it with a song
that had some tough chords and
BIAB got many of them right!

Thanks for the speedy reply

When using the Audio Chord Wizard, be sure to press F8 to mark the beginning of the song. There are other threads here to help improve the accuracy of the chord recognition.

Note that advanced extensions in jazz chords may be a problem. Also, you will get chords no more than every two beats. Still, it's a great tool to help in transcribing a tune.

Oh, and welcome to the forum.
