I read recently read that SONAR and Cakewalk have ceased production. I think it was bought by Gibson a couple of years ago and they have made the decision. Gibson seem to have a good record at buying companies and then folding them. I used to use SONAR many years back but swapped to REAPER which I much preferred. However I get the impression there are quite a few SONAR users who also use BIAB and RealBand and it is obviously disappointing for them. I guess the software will continue to work but as operating systems change and over time it may stop working. Maybe someone else will buy it out the company to keep it going.

Indeed. You'll want to see this thread from yesterday: http://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=439171#Post439171

I didn't see that thread. Sad news anyway both for employees and faithful users

Just give it time.... they might recover by means of a spin off or buy out, or an investor with deep pockets could pick it up and keep it going..... or.... it could go the way of the dinosaurs and become nothing more than a fond memory
