There's a video codec that you might need to install. It may be on your installation disk, or you can find it on the pgmusic support pages for download.

BIOAB 2009 FAQ # 83 has the following info:

The PGMusic TechFAQs are always the fastest way to find help around here.

83. I am having trouble playing the video tutorials.

If you hear sound but don't actually see the video while it is playing, or if you get an error message when you try to play it, you most likely don't have the TSCC codec installed on your computer. Most of our recent videos use the TechSmith Screen Capture Codec. Click here to download the TSCC codec.

If you are still having trouble playing the videos for any reason, we suggest reinstalling Windows Media Player. This is easiest done by downloading and installing the most recent version of Windows Media Player for your operating system.

Note that If you have downloaded the video from our website, you will need to extract the file with a program such as WinZip. A trial version of WinZip can be downloaded from http://www.winzip.com. Windows XP has a built-in utility for extracting files. You should then be able to then play the file in Windows Media Player. If the video doesn't run automatically when you double-click on it, open Windows Media Player (Start | Programs | Accessories | Entertainment | Windows Media Player), and use the File | Open command to open the file.

-- To download as hotlinks please go to the FAQ page, hit ctrl-f and type "video" in the find window, hit Enter.

Maybe this, copied from my hard disk of BB2009, will help:

Windows Media Player

If you are having trouble related to .WMA compression, your computer might be missing a required file. You can most likely resolve this problem by installing Windows Media Player 9 or higher. Make sure to install the correct version for your operating system. You should download the latest version from the internet, but if you do not have internet access we have provided the following files:

WMP_10_Setup.exe: Windows Media Player 10 for Windows XP.

WMP_9_Setup: Windows Media Player 9 for Windows 98(SE) / ME / 2000 / NT.

Windows Vista users should have Windows Media Player 11 (or higher). Windows 95 and 98(1st edition) users should download Windows Media Player 7.1.

There is also a "tscc.exe" and a "tscchk.ini" on there, too, in one of the video folders.

Hi,

You may need to either update the drivers for your video card, or turn down graphics hardware acceleration a couple of notches (right-click desktop-properties-settings-advanced-troubleshoot
