Het Ei (The Egg)
This is a cover of the song "Het Ei" (The Egg) by the Dutch singer-songwriter Jaap Fischer, a boy with a guitar, nothing more.
But he was very popular in the 60's, because of the lyrics of his songs.
They were always humourous, but often also cynical, painful or crude.
And each song told a complete story.
After having heard "Het Ei", I have never been able to fry an egg without thinking of this song.
The English translation is at the bottom of the video.
WARNING:
It is possible that, having heard the song and seen the video, you'll never thoughtlessly fry an egg again!

This SOUNDS great - the narrative - well, it's confronting but so it ought as should every time we reach for animal protein.
COOL & COOL.

Very nice production. The medium picking campfire style perfectly fits the song. As always I enjoy hearing Anne-Marie's singing.

An interesting song and video. I'm not much of an egg-eater - and now I have another reason to be so!

Much enjoyed!

Take care,

Alan

Hoi Anne-Marie en Rob,

Wat een geweldig lied! En hoe jullie kwanen tot dit onderwerp is mij nog steeds een raadsel.
This means: What a great song! And how you came to this subject is still a mystery to me.
I enjoyed it all about that talking egg.
But you know? Baking eggs will never be the same for me...
And I'm already having a hard time. I have two vegetarian sons...

But what a nice song, and what nice vocals!
I really enjoyed this cheerful/sad song.

Hi, Rob and Anne-Marie,

Nicely done. With your warning, I was able to guess the ending. smile

Of course, the eggs sold in stores are unfertilized, but why let that get in the way of a story? wink

How original.
The last image was worrying.
Well done Rob and Anne.

Wow, this is something very interesting to investigate. I haven't heard of The Egg, but he sounds like fun. If this song is anything like what he would produce, I'm in. Man, you, Rob and Anne-Marie are really good at this --and well, eeryuthing you do. It was so short with so much to absorb that I listened 3 times to grasp it all. Each one was very rewarding. Thanks.
