I just heard Band-in-a-Box on YouTube.

Use this forum to see, hear and help to publicize how Band-in-a-Box is used on YouTube and other sites.
What about our own Youtube channels, are those eligible when they contain our own BBox creations?

Great question Icelander! Yes, please feel free to post a link to a specific video you yourself have done using Band-in-a-Box in some way!

It's so good to hear that. To be honest I was initially concerned that this would just serve as another "let's pat ourselves on the back and get lots of praising we can use for free to promote BBox, yayh!" forum (See that 'other' recent forum you created, which has already backfired).
But with this angle added to the mix, at least this one may potentially also serve to promote our own stuff or other musicians along the way cool

What about this one - "Concept Video?
Is that too far outside the square?
In that case. These are some early backing tracks that I recorded with live vocals and guitar. (1st or 2nd take). I gradually change the backing tracks and external effects. Recently, I've been reprogramming my Nova Guitar effects. On my 'to do' list is some work on the VoiceLive 2 vocal effects.

I put them up on YouTube so I am able to look at them from anywhere for my personal education and to see if I'm improving as a performer grin I'm mainly interested in my singing. I might record some recent ones to compare. eek
Yes, tanks for posting. Btw, We'd prefer different threads for each different YouTube site.
Right, I'm going to resist the temptation of 'tooting my own horn' for at least this first tip (my YT channel is in my sig anyway) and instead point your attention to Maurizio's aptly named "Virtual Band" channel that I subscribed to: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdG-u1WGSAVUdl34PUwNdVw

I'm going through this playlist right now and just had to come here to tell you - Your "Stormy Monday" is just the COOLEST thing I've heard!!
And then there's this massive monster of a channel, by someone all the way from Australia (not really sure why that bit impressed me but it did), who uses BBox extensively, with some videos going up to 3 whole hours: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCm9GAPznIYJ6cmMWbY48NIA
Granted, to those of us on here that listen a lot to the songs & demos that come with the program, a few of the songs (mainly chord progressions) may perhaps sound somewhat 'familiar'. But seeing as this guy is giving a junk of his income from his albums to charity, I for my part am quite willing to let such minor niggles slide smile

Hi VideoTrack,

This video would be best posted on a WishList forum as it's showing what you'd like Band-in-a-Box to be, not how you or others use Band-in-a-Box currently. Very cool concepts!
Some user made this highly successful (judging by the comments) "How to" video about Band-in-a-Box: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zQrdiWvq1A

He already did. This posting it here, I'm sure, was just a clever way of making sure you noticed it! wink
Can I post cover songs I performed using backing tracks I've created with Band in a Box? I don't write a lot of original songs, but create a lot of tracks for covers I do with steel pan.
To clarify the types of posts for this forum....

*** Anything *** can be posted that is on youtube, and has some connection to Band-in-a-Box. The key word here is anything. So you don't need pre-approval.

Andrew,

Why not have a Band In A Box YouTube channel where users' BIAB videos could be accessed in one place? Like your Soundcloud channel? There are some really good vids being done by users (myself excluded) grin , and the visual aspect might help sell the program.

Regards,

Bob

It would seem you are in the minority! grin

I've got a couple of my own YouTube channels. It would be interesting if this could be done. You can't really repost videos to the actual channel without re-uploading the video.

You can, however, create a playlist akin to SoundCloud!

No word on if this will be done, but we do appreciate the great idea!
lambada,

Thanks for sharing your musical works. Great performance. Some unusual style choices. Really enjoyed your guitar picking on the Sky is Crying.
Thanks, you're very kind. grin It's probably time to do some more live recordings as I tend to edit and change everything like sound patches etc I have over 70 songs now in my repertoire! - other changes are due to memory loss! wink
Nice work lambada
Thanks. I may be late to the party but nice work.
The very first tune I did using band in a box, 9 years ago.
I had a 25 year break from playing the accordion due to tendonitis and my wife decided to buy me a small midi keyboard. I soon got bored with the sounds and downloaded band in a box. I was Messing around with a melody and my wife said that it would sound lovely on the accordion. It came out of it's case and Farewell to Kintail was born. Kintail is a beautiful part of the western highlands where my Granny lived.

The tune has since been recorded by several others

It's funny in that I just uploaded a BB song to facebook. It is totally composed in BB using all real instruments. I was going to put it up for a listen by the members but I first had to convert it to a video file before I could upload it to FB. If any of you would like to critique it just Click on this spot and it'll open the file.

Don't pay attention to the flying. I was just messing with a quad copter. It was short enough and would upload to FB.

Thanks,
this is with BIAB:

Strange I'm not seeing any of the posts from March 2017 until today on this thread...seems they've disappeared.
Hi Josie,

Go the the "I Just Heard Band-In-A-Box on Youtube" forum and scroll all the way to the bottom.

Under "Display Options", check that "Show Topics" is set to 'FROM ALL DATES'.

I've noticed that sometimes this settings seems to get reset to something different.

Hopefully this will solve the problem.

All the best,
Noel
Thank you Noel! I'm on my little tablet with small keyboard and hit by accident. It's back to normal now thanks to you. blush grin Virtual hug.
The top twenty nine songs were recorded using BIAb as the writing tool &/or for at least one instrument...

Looks like there hasn't been a post to this thread for a while so I thought I'd revive it with a recent post from my Lot2Learn Jazz Instructional Channel on YouTube.

I used BIAB to create the backing track and then recorded a Rhodes piano solo over it. I then used a screen capture program to capture the notation of my solo as displayed in BIAB to superimpose over a video of my playing. The "Split-Hand" feature in BIAB is extremely useful for this and it helps my viewers visualize the notes I am playing and hopefully helps them in their learning.

Enjoy! And feel free to ask me any questions!

That's a nice tune, well-played!

I found your main website, but had to do that manually. I couldn't find a link to it from your sales page.

I noticed that your main site is HTTP only. There are a number of web hosts that provide HTTPS certificates for free now. Getting one used to be expensive and a pain in the butt.

Ok, here's one that came to mind straight away - You genuinely use an actual Rhodes? I mean, that sound now days is included on just about every keyboard in existence, but the instrument itself is getting quite rare, hence I wondered.

I have the same problem of not getting all posts in a forum (not just for tis particular one), but your tip does not fix this for me confused
Great to hear from the wonderful Lot2learn again….
