Hello,

I've been playing around with Gospel styles and have found that the piano transitions from bar to bar can be abrupt or choppy (as if it's lacking sustain). Does anyone have a fix that can smooth things out?

Are you using MIDI or RealTracks?

I’m assuming RealTracks. They are phrases of 1, 2, 4 or 8 bars. Stitching them together can produce some awkward voicings and/or register jumps. One thing that can help is to make sure the Natural Arrangement feature is on. The program then selects ‘more expected’ chord progressions, and the likelihood of better voice leading increases.

May or may not help, but try regenerating the song several times until it sounds/plays better. the RealTracks will usually use different phrases with each generation of the song. Good luck.

Also, you can always substitute a RealTrack in any style as well. Try a different Piano RealTrack if the above does not work out.

Referencing the phrases of 1, 2, 4 or 8 bars Matt mentions, if you have 2,3,4 or more bars that are the same key in a row, by not inserting the key for each bar will trigger Biab to play the longer phrases.

For instance, if you have 4 bars playing C your may have entered your chords chart like this

c\|c\|c\|c\ where \ is beat two and is blank and | separates the bars. You've entered a C in each bar on the first beat.

try entering the 4 bars of C at only the first beat of the 4 bars and leave the subsequent bars blank
c\|\\|\\|\\

This will allow Biab to create longer phrases and should be much smoother.
