Hi guy's.
I have a small question.
I have a wav file imported in Biab, (it's a backing track), but it has no count in. Can anyone of you help me to insert a count in before the wav file ? When i push on 'play', the wav file starts immediately .
Thanks a lot.
Christiaan.

Christiaan,

I can think of a couple of ways of doing this but the way depends upon what you want to accomplish with the wav file in BIAB (given that it's already a backing audio). For example, you'd like to add a drums to accompany the wav file, etc.

In other words, why is it better to load the wav into BIAB rather than simply load it into a DAW and work on it there?

Also, do you have BIAB for Windows or for Mac and is it a recent version?

Regards,
Noel

How long does the count in have to be?
What do you want playing the count in?

This would be quick and easy in Realband (BiaB sister program) if you know the tempo of the wav file.

Well, the meaning is, i want 4 drumstick ticks before the wav file starts, so i have the time when i push on "Play" to take my guitar in my hands untill the backing track starts, thats it. I have biab 2018 for windows. The tempo is 70 bpm.
Hope you can do with this.
Thank you guy's for helping me.

Although a DAW would be much better for this task try this:
1-pick a style
2-set the tempo to 70
3-in the first measure put C.
4-import your audio file and start it on the second measure

The dot after C means rest. You will hear a count in followed by a measure of silence. Your wav will play but the style will not.

In a DAW you can get exactly what you want but this is a BiaB work-around.

Good luck.

Since you have 2018 you have Realband.

You could open RB, then
Open Click.mid MIDI file found here -
http://www.masteringmatters.com/stuff2/click.mid
Set the Tempo to 70.

Go to a blank track, right click and select Import Wav file.
When the popup appears set it to measure 2-1-0 as the import spot and click OK

Now you have 100 bars of click on one track and your audio on another.
You can use Edit-Cut to the click track from 2-1-0 thru 200-1-0 to get rid of the click once the audio starts if you want.

When done, use Render-Merge Audio and VSTi tracks to stereo wave.
Then you have your song with a click.
If you don't hear the click in the wav, go to Options-MIDI-MIDI Devices and check the box for Reroute all MIDI to default synth and put the Coyote synth in the drop down. Click OK, listen and Render again.

When you import the wav it will ask where you want it to start, instead of bar -1 change it to bar 1 and Biab will play the count-in.
