I was in Europe for the summer when Congratulations was a big hit. It seemed like every other song played on the radio and you heard folks just singing it while walking down the street. My Norwegian grandmother gave me the sheet music. I'll have to see if I still have it.

Sensational article. Talk about the 'unsung heroes'. It's surprising that Bill's name has remained out of the spotlight for so long.

This is true for a lot of famous artists who make it big. A lot of them get their songs written for them, and depending on the record label, they actually have people who submit song lyrics to them and they pick out what suits their artists best. It is a super fascinating process.
