I searched back over the forums with the thought I had previously recalled a discussion about a "drum tap" occurring after a tune is completed. I now have that happening and cannot seem to "turn it off". I've run Build 313 already......does anyone recall such a problem being discussed and, if so, what was done to eliminate the problem? I have the Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit setup.

Thanks in advance,
Cecil

I guess I just answered my own question......I checked back just now to see what "fixes" were done with the previous "build updates" and noticed that Build 312 had fixed a "drum click" at the end of a tune provided you were using ASIO.....and since I'm currently running under the MME unbrella, I guess I should expect the problem to still persist.

So much for that.....anyone have any latest updated info about this?

That thing has been around a long time, and seems to come and go. I wish it would go.

Not nearly as annoying as my latest going deaf and having loud tinnitus thing. I spent hours looking for tapping drumsticks or loud dripping water. I called the Audioligist who confirmed for me that "it's not unusual". Nice. Then I had Tom Jones stuck in my head for a week. "It's not unusual to be...NO NO shut up....!"

I know pgmusic has worked on this. Does it happen in multiple styles or is it one RealDrum set?

It MIGHT have something to do with the audible lead in too. If you have one try killing it and see if it goes away.

"You find it happens all the time.."; that's a problem or Tom Jones again..

Thanks John.....I'll check into it further. I also assume that since PGMusic indicated that they solved the problem if one is using ASIO, but not so for the MME, then they're working on it "even as we speak" so that lessens my concern a little (i.e., I assume it'll even be solved for MME at the next build/update).

I always enjoy reading your posts.....do you happen to have a book out on the market yet? I'd buy it!!

Moo-d swings. Holy Cow I've got them.

This morning I was up before the sun, big fluffy white housecoat, french press coffee, Vialdi's 4 seasons, -12 outside, fresh white snow, and the sun came up orange yellow over the houses at 8:30 to Spring (Vivaldi again). Sitting in the picture window at the front of the house watching all the neighbours walking their dogs leaving yellow stains on the snowbanks. I've got the birdfeeders outside my window and the woodpeckers and chickadees are having breakfast, I think a grapefruit and english muffin are in order...Thanks...as Ray would say..later.

I think PGMuisc was under the understanding that it only happened with ASIO, may want to drop support a note.

From memory, when the topic came up recently everyone reported using ASIO when it happened.

Do you have any plugins running?
I've seen some plugins hold onto a note (in the MME buffer) after stopping the song, and then the note pops up again when played.. it's weird, but has happened.
I found that letting the song play all the way through before rendering (so the buffer empties) resolved it.

I still get the click at the end of a song if I'm using my external synth via a USB M-Audio interface. When I use Coyote Forte, I get no click. Very annoying.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
