There used to be threads, a while back, about the length of start-up time for BiaB. There were suggestions about PC performance and the relative power of various PC configurations and all that. But for many of us, from "click" to "ready" would often take up to 30 seconds or so. This seemed to have been fixed in 2010 (or 2010.5, can't remember). It was fantastic. Start-up was almost instantaneous. Now, with 2011, we seem to be back a little bit where we were before. It's not as bad as it once was but not as great as it had become. Hopefully this can be fixed again.

That wasn't immediaely after a Cold Boot, was it?
I've noticed that the first time I start BB2011 after a Reboot, it takes an interminably long amount of time to load - and the first time you see the familiar BB mainscreen, don't click anything, for it will flash away and reppear.
But after that, in the same Windows session with no reboot, BB loads a lot faster.

Exactly Mac. I forgot to mention that.
The behavior is different than it used to be. The wait time used to be at the chord window. Now the delay is when the logo flash screen is up.
Again, hopefully fixed with a future patch build.

Mine's quite slow too. Perhaps BIAB is running around try to get the "Real" musicians out of the poolroom or bar.
Cheers, Keith

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
