This song is a work in process. The vocal is the "posterity take". Harmonies will be added very soon. I'm looking for feedback: mix, levels, instrumentation, etc. etc. or anyting else. Click here to listen The backing tracks are all RealTracks. No style was used. Lyrics: remember when we were only children the fuel for our dreams was a stroll on God's Good Green swords and dragons taking flight and victory for the King all on a stroll on God's Good Green remember the awe of that summer's day caught by the storm others fled in alarm lightning crashed and thunder roared you and I showed no fear romanced by the power of God's Good Green they say you can't escape your destiny if what they say is true I'll lie in nature's hues the sun soaked dappled gold of God's Good Green like a river they tell me that I need to be always on the move carving my own groove but rivers wide like birds in flight find their own way of taking time to praise God's Good Green

Robb, What a beautiful song! Love the lyrics, the melody, arrangement and the way you sang it. The mix sounds good here except for a couple of little strange glitches almost like pops in a couple places - I'm not describing it well so I'm sure if others hear them they'll chime in. Anyway, it didn't interfere with my enjoyment of the song. I enjoyed the song so much I listened twice. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the kind words Josie.
I listened for the pops but couldn't hear them. My ears aren't the best, however. I have substantial hearing loss in my left ear that results in not hearing certian frequencies. For example I can't hear the pitter-patter of rain, crickets, or many bird's songs in that ear. That is one of the reasons I'd like feedback on the mix. Hopefully someone else can lead me to the glitch so I can work it out.
Thanks again for your input. I am glad you enjoyed it enough to listen again!

Robb, beautiful song and great performance. I really enjoyed this. I thought the mix was good - my ears are not the best either, so I'll let others chime in here. Your voice reminded me a lot of John Denver - very, very nice. Great job!

Robb, I thought the mix, levels, etc, were fine. I'm not hearing any pops or clicks either. I also like that you didn't use any drums, this song works very well without them. The slight retard at the end was a nice touch as well. Good Job, Greg

I guess (hope) the pops must have been an anomoly on the one system.
There were only three instruments in the mix: fingerpicked guitar, mandolin, and fiddle. The arrangement was put together because these are instruments available to us (my family) and we use BIAB to practice with.
Our home is generally not quiet enough to record. If you listen to the vocs closely you can hear my kids playing.
The ladies have wonderful harmonies I hope to record soon.
Thanks for the listen!
