Great song Robert! Loved the lyrics, changes and your excellent voice.

I'd be interested in some information on the recording especially: is that you playing the guitar leads? Some cool stuff there!

Mix-wise for me the voice is too prominent compared with the other instruments so it sounds separate, especially as its reverb is different. The lead guitar is a main feature (occupying the same if not more time than the vocal) and yet stays in the background.

A haunting and catchy song though, thanks for bringing it to us!

John

Hi 90 db,

Very good song you have here.

Really enjoyed it. Sounded very professional.

Well done.

Give us a clue as to the Real Tracks you used please.

Best regards
George

Noel,

Thanks for the kind words, and thanks for the help with BIAB.

Skyline,

Ditto. Except for the vocal, the entire thing is BIAB/RB. As for the mix, I really didn't spend too much time on it - this is just a songwriting demo I'm pitching to a guy, so the vocal was the most important thing.

George,

I'll have to look up the RB tracks that were used. They were just default tracks, nothing special.

These programs are a blast.

Thanks for listening.

Bob

That is certainly an understatement.

Now here you nailed it.

Great job on the vocals. It does sound like you are having fun.

Oh, by the way, how do you song writers handle it when you song title matchs an existing classic?

As to your first comment: I have been using the program for about a month. I apologize if the production lacks the sophistication you obviously possess.

As for the song title that 'matchs' an existing classic, I assume you are referring to Clapton's title. You might, perhaps, be referring to one of these others:

This is just a partial list. There are 237 songs titled "Bad Love", and this only includes songs copyrighted after 1978.

Thanks for the enlightened comment though.

I sense a little attitude, my apologies if I offended, certainly not my intention at all.

My mistake. You obviously meant that comment to be complimentary.

Ya, I was trying to convey how nice it all sounded. Darn short cryptic comments - sometimes they just mess us up in these forums.

Glad we got that squared away. All is good. Thanks.

I love the blues and you more than did them justice here.

Excellent!

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Thanks Mario. Every time I write a blues, I ask myself "Can Blue men sing the Whites?"

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
