Here is song 5 in the 50/90 Songwriting Challenge. It was part of a weekly challenge to write a song about a phobia. I chose acrophobia, the fear of heights. The style used was rap 1 sw16, the instruments are all midi, and they are 37 slap bass, 5 Rhodes piano, Standard drum kit, 26 acoustic guitar, it is a funny song so I hope you like it. Let me know, thanks. Here is the link.

Hi Robert, all of these a great starting points. I hope when this challenge is done you will come back and polish these songs up a bit.

I guess I should qualify by remarks. Writing x amount of songs in y number of days is a great way to push yourself out of your comfort zone and to stimulate your writing processes. However something has to be ignored and that mostly is polish. You have 4 real gems in the rough thus far IMHO. A little polish would take them over the top.

Keep up the good work.

Hi Robert,

I've just had a listen to "I Want To". It's a great, catchy song. To my mind, this is lyric writing at it's best. Good word economy, memorable and makes you feel like you can sing along with them straight way. Congratulations of a wonderful effort.

One thing that occurred to me as I was listening is that this song, to my ears at least, would stand repeating the first verse again. People would love to sing along with it and it really sums up the song so well. I know that, at the moment, rewriting is not on the table because it's all about production. If you ever get back to this one, though, the above is just a thought that might be worth trying.

All the best,
Noel

Robert,

Great job on this one (I Want To)! With the country feel, and the way the steel is working, this one kind of reminds me of another very prolific songwriter, Hank Williams Sr. That puts you in pretty good company in my opinion!

Keep up the great work!

Steve
