Thank you Danny ! Just go's to show ya ain't gotta have some fancy axe to have fun ,music can be fun with a bucket too . Yee Haw !

You are correct sir . . . reminds me of my very early years when this(back then old cat)would follow our band from gig to gig, find him a place not too far from the stage where he would play his spoons. I mean this guy would even show up at weddings and private gigs, many times we had to just say, "hey he's with the band".

On a more serious note a featured solo on that baby would be a very change of pace during a regular gig. Heck I'd bet it would draw a lot of attention just sitting on stage awaiting it's turn!

Happy New Year,

I agree with Kemmrich:

Satisfaction for me did not come until I started writing and performing my own material.

Get into the habit - join Kemmrich and I and a few other PG'ers at February Album Writing Month www.fawm.org

Goal is to write 14 songs in the month of February, each February.

Thousands participate now every year and many of them reach the goal. My success rate is 75% at reaching the goal, and out of those 14 songs each year, I have 2 or 3 true keepers that entertain myself and others.

Get into the discipline of writing your own material. There's lots of ways to go about it - copy a song structure from one of your favorite songs and replace chords, melody and lyrics, etc.

I try to do something new for me each year as part of the practice. Last year, the new thing for me was to write a song without a proper chorus, just a repeated refrain line on the ends of the verses.

Thanks Yall! When I fist built that one it had only 1 string and 1 washtub, but the economy was booming back then and so I added the extree strings and tub (wanted me a double bass). I also built a 4 stringer one outta recycled red wood (my old front porch),but gave it away to my brother in-law . Have built a few hillbilly fiddles and guitars too !

Yeah, shmartinn is likely a spambot. The technology is mainly used for rewriting webpages, so you can create copies of "articles" and increase your presence on Google. But they've also got programs that scrape webpages for content, and it looks like that's what's happening here.

There's some pretty slick stuff out there - Google "rewrite article software." But there's better software available if you're looking for something to help write lyrics.

Back in the days of shareware, I'd flirted with the idea of putting together something similar, to allow students to automatically pad their papers. (In my naivete, the possibility of using it to rewrite existing papers hadn't occurred to me). Given that my target audience was also the least likely to pay for software, I decided to spend my time elsewhere.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Happy to hear you took advantage of that little spurt in the economy back then.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
