There is a "competition" going on between my band, River Knot, and me.
They are #1 on reverbnation for the Needmore, PA area, and #2 for Hagerstown, MD.
I was #1 in Needmore, now #2. (heck I'm the only musician here!) & #2 in Hagerstown, now #3.

As a result of this, we're trying to actually figure out how these ratings work & change.

If you have the time & inclination...would you visit the site, maybe listen to a song, and maybe "like" or "share"?

Thanks in advance....

Mickster, I am playing your tunes as we spea ... er .. I type!

Is there anymore to it than just playing the songs?

The rating on Reverbnation is nonsense. I've been #23 in my town of 1,500 for years, and there are only three musicians here with CDs.

I know that "plays" count as do "visits".
"Fanning" requires you to create an account. Not hard to do, but why would someone bother unless they wanted a page?
I think you can "like" or "share" on FB or twitter. (I think you can also "follow")

Like I said, I'm not quite sure how all this works. Don't even know how helpful it is in promoting or gigging, but I imagine it can't hurt.

Thanks for taking the time!

Mick

Matt...I wouldn't have guessed you to be more than 1100 years old! LOL!
From what I can see, if there are a limited # in your area, they bring in acts from adjoining areas. River Knot, for instance is from Hagerstown. (50 miles away) The closest REAL city to where I live.

Hi Mick,
Great site! I love your music!

“There You Are” is my favorite, followed by “Back in my Arms Again” and “Moonlight”. What are you using for your sax sounds?

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Hi Mario. Thanks for checking it out.
All of the saxes used are from the VL70m (physical modeling synth)with Matt's turbo chip.

ps the "Matt" just referenced here is not me.

As it happens, I do have a WX5 with a VL70 and I also swapped out the stock chip for the Patchman Turbo chip.

Hi Mick,

I am listening to your songs (as usual, I like what I hear). I also became a fan, since I already have a ReverbNation account.

Good luck!

Steve

IF it's set up fairly; clicking Play everyday will have much less weight than a new listener. Otherwise a guy could just play his own stuff over and over again. I would guess the IP address is used to determine new listeners.

Enjoy ruling your pond.
Then venture upstream into the nearest lake..
and have fun doing it.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
