Does anyone own one of these and will it work with Biab?

Demo Video of some of the patches.

Is this a synth for a "live" band, or can I use it to playback also with Biab/RB etc? Some have stated it is for live play vs a workstation etc?

Thanks,

Trax

It connects via USB and comes with bundled software to allow editing. It appears as a VSTi plugin, so should work ok with any midi tracks.

I got one. My new goto gizmo. Very very light. I don't usb it, I just plug it into my Bose Mixer and there you go.

To me the pianos are not the best. But that's me, and I heed my own advice. That, no matter how crappy, if it sounds decent, your Mom will think it's totally awesome, and others are going to say, yup that's a piano.

Carnegie hall does not await me, so "what, me worry?"

I don't know if I feet that I must plug the usb cable in, I just never have.

Ps. If you have 1/2 you brain cells left, please buy one. I want to know how to make the darn pedal settings stick after it's powered off for a day or so. And I'd like a button for dummies to make it work again. Despite all my efforts, I'm arriving 1/2 hour early just to be sure I can set the darn thing. And it's me. Just too much chemo I guess, which turned out to be preferable to the alternative. Singular.

Eh bien.

I love being able to quick layer sounds, the horn section for stabs, but power it up with organ strings horns and synth the latter has really nice bass presence when added to the mix.

It would be nice if some company would put the synths in a row with all of them through the right amps, but most companies make 90 percent of their profit on throw away guitars and amps, because everyone wants to front a band with a guitar. Not one 10 year old in 100 would walk up to a display with drums, guitars and keyboards and even want to touch the thing.

That rant over.

Would you like a nice picture of it? LOL.

I tried my daughters old ipad but could not get the net. My wife asks, 'what are you doing with etch-a-sketch.' Geez.

As I said yesterday, "I'm having fun, when I'm not, you won't see me."

Depends on you're definition of "work". Any synth will work with Biab even if all it does is emulate the Tibetan Monk chants. You can load Monk #1 into the Guitar track, Monk #2 in the Bass track, etc. Therefore, it "works" with Biab. I'm assuming you're talking about the regular instruments. I would say almost certainly it has all of those. Next question is does it have a GM soundbank? Again, I would say almost certainly. If it has a GM soundbank then you simply put it in GM mode, set Biab to send a "GM on" message (the default, I think) and hook it up to your computer, if you use USB then the Korg itself should show up so you select the Korg in Biab's midi window and that's it, it will play just as easily as any other GM synth you may have. If you plug the Korg into a midi interface then it's the interface that shows up in the midi device select window.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
