Has anyone made a Beatles style by chance? I tried the British Invasion style, but it's not quite the same vibe as the Beatles.Just wondering by chance. I guess I could make one myself if I can figure out how to. Thanks Leonard

If you were to couple that with a pile of Notes styles fro his site i think you could have a winner!

I have the Fab Four sampled instruments. They are very realistic. With the right MIDI files you could produce some nice stuff.

Check out the Style Creation Wizard. Just open up a well crafted Beatles midi file and have the style creation wizard turn this file into a BB style. You may wind up with a style pretty close to what you're after.

Have fun

I found this site a couple of years ago:

http://earlybeatles.com/

Just scroll down and you'll see the American released album covers.

He has every Beatle song from the American released albums. There is nothing I love more than to load up a file, tweak it with Ketron SD2 instruments, and play and sing along.

Now that I've seen the Fab Four sampled instruments...that is on the "things to buy" list!

The main problem here Leonard is that the mop-tops have so many different styles in their songs. The midi site mention in this thread is a good start but it does not necessary translate directly into a file suitable for the ‘Fab Four’ sample library. Here are some other suggestions people might like to follow up.

Here is an example using BIAB style ‘BALADE Ctry Ballad w/el guitar (85RS)’ that has the right piano tonal tempo for a well-known mop-top number. Add the BIAB blues guitar solo and you get the following short clip:

‘Fab Four’ as a sample library requires a little bit of knowledge how to use it in a DAW (you have to enter the midi notes - the midi site indicated would help to a certain extent with this). But BIAB can also be used as a skeleton backing – ( for example ‘_BALADR Rock Ballad w/el. Guitar (65RS)’ at 71 tempo). By using that and the ‘Fab Four’ sample libraries correct GH’s guitar, PM’s bass guitar, organ, an orchestral string library samples in addition to the ‘The Beatles Complete Score’ book published by Hal Leonard for note guidance you can end up with this (Something ! that would probably pass muster with George Martin):

FrankK agreed on the many different styles the Beatles had, that was what made them so unique and fabulous.Every year they evolved into something totally different from the year before.Thats why there never be another group like them again,it was a truly a once in a lifetime event and if you were fortunate enough to be alive then, you got to see it first hand.I just barely remember the early years and really did not get into them until they were dis-banded.The Let it Be and Something were awesome by the way.You did those with BIAB?
Tomshannon2 thanks for the link and yes that Fab Four Virtual is on my list to.

You said you have the Beatles Virtual Instruments!I see you have to get an Ilok key to use program, how does that work since I've never bought anything that required that before? Thanks

Works fine. You plug it into a USB port and leave it there when you want to work with the Fab Four. You download your license from the iLok site to your Ilok, which has first been registered itself at the iLok website. Very easy to do.

I have read many rants against iLok screwing up computers but that has not happened to me in the last five years, on either a PC or now a Mac. From what I have seen recently a number of companies are dropping iLok and moving to their own copy protection schemes.

Leonard,
Let it Be is entirley an out-of-the-box BIAB style.
Something is BIAB skeleton and Fab Four, EWQL Symphonic Orchestra strings sample libraries.

Fab Four as well as many other libraries by the same makers have been on my computer for some time now
and I have never had any problems with the iLOK system.

Cheers.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
