Again, I'm sure the theoretical existence of 3/3 has nothing to do with this song. The writer simply called it 3/3 when he meant 3/4. I'd never heard of 3/3 either, but I have no music training beyond junior high school, so I inquired. The chords are below. This guy can hear a train whistle and tell you that it's Ab (maybe not such a big deal, though it certainly impresses me), but he obviously has major gaps in his grasp of music terminology. The breaks in the lines are mine to make it easier to enter into BIAB, he had some different breaks. SORRY to create such a stir, never intended it to turn into this!

Don't be sorry, it wasn't a stir at all. Just a lot of fun really. I figured that was what he meant and it was just a typo.

The discussion was interesting though! LOL

Lots of fun here. Besides, I much prefer playing in 5/5 to 3/3.

Wow, what a waste of time!?! I looked in Sibelius and couldn't find a 1/3rd note. Wasn't there in Finale, either. Nor in MuseScore or Noteworthy Composer. Finally gave up in disgust. Third notes, hah!

Okay, yeah, I didn't actually do any of those things, 'cause there ain't no such thing as a "third" note; sounds like something you would hear from the "third" hole over.

A third of a note is a triplet. That happens all the time. Henry Purcell did a few operatic pieces in 3/2. Dido and Aeneas, sort of adapted from Virgil.

Wow, and this before breakfast. I'll go take my blood sugar and see if I can duplicate this memory feat.

He had the "3" where the "2" would be in your example John. (3/3/ opposed to 3/2)Otherwise what you said is pretty good memory in my eyes. I certainly wouldn't remember that (and probably never knew it).

Much like Matt I enjoy 5/5 better, and even an 11/11 once in a while. 3/3 got real boring real fast. Try to draw an 11th note! You gotta get the flags just so. Notation wouldn't print them for me. Go figger.

I think I'm now inspired to write a 23/23 song. Hmmmm, prime number music...

prime number music
nice album title for the right niche
or prime time music ..

If others here are interested in odd time music, by all means please speak up. I have lots of ideas .. many of them started in seq format. Odd time can be fun.
We can meet in a hidden corner if we have to.

Always on the lookout for new band names:

'Crappy Bet in Vegas'
'Prime Time Music' (that one's not so bad for society gigs)
'Meet in a Hidden Corner'

I'm blaming Bob...

Get with the program bob me lad.

The silly of London,( mean city )booked that band for xmas last year.

They were on a big float. Generator / Sound system.

1200 bucks for 1.5 hours on a Sunday afternoon in November. Cool.

Weird Gig or What?

I can see Shatner doing that one. Weird Gig or what? Heck he's only 80 something. Might as well work part time. The Canadian Govt gives you about 900 smackers to sit at home when you are retired.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
