There are a couple of folks that seem to like my music & I haven't posted a song in a while....
Recorded the Synthophone with the VL70m "Stevie" patch into PT. (kind of a deconstuction of Keb Mo's version)
Isn't She Lovely

Hope you enjoy.

Mick

Mick;

That was a very nice arrangement. I picture myself sitting in a classy club, dining on steak and lobster, with candle lite while this plays in the background. Great mix.

Great job Mick. I really like the backing and the mix, perfectly done. You've got some chops there my-man.

This sounds really good.

Four Aces Mick! Great feeling and phrasing as per the usual Mick Emery efforts, very enjoyable.

Now don't wait so long inbetween songs my friend, the crowd hates that.

Excellent Mick......I added it to my collection. This is the kind of jazzy tune I really like.

Mick,
Just awesome. Okay, now you need to tell us how you did it. Is that a backing track, Real Tracks, or what? It doesn't sound like a synth.

The whole song is just fantastic.

I agree with Luvs, you need to put out a whole album like that.

Actually Mick, I just took a look at your site, which I never have before, and I kind of went 'Doh!' No wonder.

Thanks again to everyone who took the time to listen.
I'm tickled that everyone enjoyed it.

I'm not playing out as often as I want to. That's my real love.
Recording & posting is the next best thing tho'. (also exposes the flaws, which I need to be aware of) Still...I leave them in. (just like playing live!)

Gary...it's RealTracks. My first & only use so far.

Mick,
I was impressed by your musical history, and I realized I was standing in the shadow of a musical giant. The 'Doh!' is from the animated television series The Simpsons, and usually refers to the sound Homer Simpson makes when he realizes how stupid he's been.

If that's your first use of Real Tracks, you'd better start using it a lot more! That really was pro, all the way.

Gary

Gary...
If you're standing in a shadow...there's a tree nearby!
I am not, nor have I ever been a "musical giant". I'm humbled that you saw it that way.

I was fortunate to cross many paths in my youth.
Spend 15 years on the road...you meet some folks.

Mick, it’s all been said.

This is MY kind of music.

Work on that CD, OK.

Just a thought, maybe you and Gary should team up on a couple.

Mick,
I've always seen it this way. To be asked to play with the number of people you've played with over the years indicates to me that you have a great talent. Giants don't have to have well known names, but they do have to have well known reputations, and a respect from within the community. As indicated by your past gigs, I would have to say you have both.

Gary

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
