More Factory specs.

Would the quality on this be as good as recording form my Desktop to My Laptop.

Would be a nice short cut and price is right with good name and warrany.

I want it great price and free 2 year warranty

thanks!

Too late already bought based on reviews over on Amazon were pretty darn good for $50
tiny recorder with good specs and decent reviews.

Ulterior motive. I will always carry this when driving, in case some kind of incident
happens.

It appears to be a good choice. I have a Zoom H1 handheld recorder and a BOSS MicroBR "portastudio". The microbr is so very good, but the ZoomH1 is very handy. Different things, different purposes.

I have the Olympus equivalent and I am thrilled with the recording quality, especially when considering that the two stereo mics are only about 1.5 inches apart but mounted on horizontally opposed axis. I use it for live recording the entertainment that comes here. Mine does not record in .wav format but records in both .mp3 and .wma. It provides 15 hours record/playback on a single AAA alkaline battery. The next model up has a rechargeable Lithium Ion pack that recharges from any USB port. Mine was US$89 at Radio Shack but RS is having a sale on them now.

Another nice feature is, the unit has a retractable USB connector which eliminates all cables. Something to consider.

Here is mine:

Don,

Apparently the battery life is about 2 hours at best.
But do have some number of rechargeables. One review commented
they worked fine. The stereo mikes on this would work, but external
would be a lot better.

Mac, Notes send me down this road searching and when saw this couldn't pass it up.

Thanx for comment folks!

I'm hoping the unit will work off USB power while recording. Browsing the .pdf manual, it looks hopeful (but one never knows until it is hooked up).

If not, I'll get rechargeable cells.

It should be fine for field recording for evaluation. And the price was right!!!

I'll still use my computer for recording at home.

Notes,

Page 81 lower right states it will....

I'm banking on this feature, intend to record from my Yamaha with it.

But as you say "Until Then".

I had to look up something for John so had manual out.

Frank,

I have the unit Lloyd mentioned. It is most excellent. I've been taking it to concerts and the results are quite good. I was recently 3rd row/center for a James Taylor concert and it came out really nice. It has built-in line level adjustments to make sure you're not recording signals that are too "hot". I've also been using mine to record our band practices.

As far as the one you ordered, it is also quite good. My stepmom in-law (is there even such a family tree term as this??), has one. I tinkered with hers when she first bought it. It is a handy gadget indeed, and quite easy to use. I can confirm that it will work with USB power. When you first turn it on, and the USB cable is connected, a menu screen appears given you the option to use the USB as a power source, or as a memory source (for the purpose of offloading files).

At any rate, I think you will be pleased at how good the little guy is for the price. Good luck and have fun!

Mike,

Thanks for the extra info. Would have rather had the unit like Lloyd, but
like mentioned before wasn't even in the market and was tickled to get
the PR-10.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
