Gonna use the Guitar Sinner 15% of Labor Day coupon to buy one of these bad boys: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Casio-XW-P1-Performance-Synthesizer-107625675-i2383670.gc Been saving up for awhile.

Yes, it's a Casio and yes, it sounds fantastic (with very little Casio cheeze) - the B3 emulation is pretty solid though I might have to go with external distortion when and if I want that.

Stay tuned for some tunes.

I bought one when they first became available. Great little keyboard for under $500. Besides it's versatility, I love that it's only 11 lbs. I just bought a Gator case for from MF. The 49 key case just fits. On the gig I've been using just the pre-sets. Haven't gotten too far into the synth features yet. It's nice for practicing also without bothering anyone. Later, Ray

I doubt that the coupon will work. Read the fine print."some exclusions apply" then check who has opted out of the coupon deals. MOST of the manufactures.

Scott, pay heed to what John said. GC is VERY tricky like that!

Now that's one way to take the wind out of one's sail! Casio is an opt-out manufacturer. I'm still gonna try. I think Raymb1 did this with Guitar Center when he bought his and they still honored it at the local store.

I've called them out on this and even they confirm that it's just short of a scam. Sorry.

I bought my Casio XW-P1 at GC with a 13% discount they had going on at the time. Later, Ray

I tried and it says that the code doesn't exist. I appreciate the effort!

Scott, I sent you more details. Good luck. I know this is a very big sale weekend at MF and GS and those keyboards are their big sellers so the coupon may not work on it, but it is valid - a call to MF with the detials I provided will clear it up.

Update, used online chat with MF and they helped out online with a 15% one time coupon that was usable on this axe. Ordered. And now the really hard wait begins!

BTW, anyone want to buy an M-Audio Oxygen 49 controller keyboard? I have one now for a really good deal! Make me an offer.

You'll have lots of fun with the many features of the XW-P1!! After 4 months I'm still knocked out by everything it does. Later, Ray

Dan, back in the day when I built my first computer for DAW use, I nickle and dimed the whole thing from probably 4 or 5 different vendors. I got to the point where I could hear the UPS truck coming from a few blocks over and my palms would get all sweaty!

I've been a very good boy as it pertains to music equipment purchase. We now have our firstborn in college. This is the first keyboard I have purchased with a sound engine inside for personal use since 1989, when I bought my die-hard Ensoniq VFX-SD. I did buy a Casio WK-200 for my kids last Christmas, which I have used a couple of times (quite impressed with it).

As for expedited shipping, I don't think so - but I did get free shipping. It will probably be here next Saturday or the following Monday - I'm guessing.

Now the savings begins to purchase an Epiphone Nighthawk Custom in either Honeyburst, Fireburst or Trans Amber. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/epiphone-nighthawk-electric-guitar What a great guitar for the money.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
