This song is still in the works.... working on new vocal tracks.

The instruments are a combination of live played and Real Band.

The song is called Come & Go... recorded in my home studio.

Brilliant track.

Very smooth and professional production and a good mix. Particularly liked the voice - at times I thought it had shades of Stevie Nicks in the phrasing and the inflections.
You say you're still working on new vocal tracks and it would be nice to hear some harmony in there, but it's still a really good track as it stands.

Thanks.

ROG.

The vocalist is a local girl who has a country/bluegrass CD out and records in a studio owned by her dad. Her name is Stevee Rose. I heard about her through some musician friends and contacted her.
As I mentioned in the first post, we are working on a better take on the vocals. we plan on several unique takes for layering, as well as harmony to fatten the choruses. I'll likely repost this when it's done.

I'm one town away and have my studio where I recorded and mixed the musical tracks....The tracks are a mix of RB tracks and live stuff.

I use Sonar X1 as my DAW....

Guitarhacker, don’t mess with this too much as it is pretty good as is! Maybe just a harmony part would do it.

Hi Guitarhacker,

Really nice. As others have already mentioned, the final mix sounds great, very professional. Please pass on my compliments to the singer, too. She's got a brilliant voice.

Noel

I agree with everyone else - great song, singer and a solid production. I can easily imagine how this song is going to shine with another level of polish.

My only thought is that song feels short. The first verse feels like a second verse to me - it's very abstract. I'd like the first verse to set up a specific scene of the ex-lovers "coming and going" before moving on to generalities.

Keep in mind this advice is coming from someone who's never written a successful song!

Verse 2 has the lyric "to mends our broken heart", which should probably be "to mend our broken hearts."

Anyway, really well done.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Thanks to all the replies...

I have been out of town for a few days....

Plans are to record a new vocal track fixing the issues with this version.... record a few "layering" tracks and 2 harmony tracks remixing primarily the vocal tracks only.

I will post the "final" version back here as soon as we have it ready.
