Yeah, I'm more of a Kid Shelleen type when it comes to a gig.

Regarding dry hands, especially the chord hand, I do sprinkle with baby powder when required during a gig.

It also has a good side effect, it helps me smell as fresh as a baby's bottom.

Danny, have you ever tried Finger Ease: http://www.zzounds.com/item--CBR2074

This stuff really works. I’ve been using the same can for years now!

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Chet Atkins wrote that he would never bath or take a shower before he had to play, stating that the water and soap softened his fingertips in an undesirable fashion.

Me, I'm no Chet Atkins. Not hardly. So I'd much rather arrive at the gig non-stinky, thank-yew, thank-yew-verr-much.

Mac, Chet also admitted on one of his YT videos that he would often wear a glove, especially on his right hand, because a broken fingernail had caused him to actually cancel appearances.

I know a guy in Key west who plays a Flamingo guitar. He doesn't warm up either.

I used to use it back in the good old days but I have found that baby powder keeps my hand drier, less oily feel.

Same can for years . . . Is it a 55 gallon can?

An old flamenco player once showed me the trick of wiping the frethand fingertips on the top area of the nose. He said that the oils from outside of the nose reduces nylon string fret noise quite a lot. Darned if he wasn't right once I got the nerve to try it.

Being from Maine we usually warmed up next to the wood stove.I played one club that used one of those kerosene "salamander" heaters. This one was so big it looked like the engine from a 727 & sounded like one. Drowned out the whole band when it fired up.

Oh. You guys mean THAT kinda warmup?

Well, in Pittsburgh back in the 60's, we often hadda fight our way thru the drunk steelworkers just to get inside the joint to play, that was enough warmup and then some...

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
