http://youtu.be/1bQx8Ixt5r4Bob, you will remember this Charlie & Ira Louvin song c1960s. These guys really do it justice. Enjoy, my friend. Edit: Bury Me Beneath The Willow - Another Bluegrass favorite. http://youtu.be/jzLWN-pgnhY

Those guys really do have some tight harmonies.
That is a great rendition of an old classic.
Thanks Don.

Don, thanks for sharing the links with the forum. I've never heard of Dailey & Vincent. Sure didn't know what I've been missing. Listened to some of the related links and every song was spot on. They have good taste to go along with their beautiful voices. I could listen to them all night. Again, thanks for sharing.

Thanks Jim. I subscribed to the Rounder Records playlist after stumbling upon Dailey & Vincent a couple of months ago and I'm notified almost daily of any new D&V songs. This 50s Louvin Brothers song has special meaning to me, I sang it as a solo (occasionally with a female harmony) in the first band I was ever in. That was many moons ago, Kemo Therapy! You were probably nothing more than a twinkle in your Momma's eye. About 1955 or thereabouts. The band was The Arrowhead Trio and we played North Central Minnesota up to the Canadian border. I was a teen and "the younger draw" trying to attract a little younger crowd. Fond memories, my friend. Thank you.

Bob, here's Rounder Records email for today. The brand new album by Dailey & Vincent. Not a sampler or teaser but their whole album. 34+ minutes in all. Of course I immediately thought of my WV buddy.

These guys are some fresh Bluegrassers to follow and squint your good eye at. I'm about 1/2 way through the album and narry a clunker in the lot. Several very special songs.
The Dobro(r) player plays it fretted. I'm seeing a lot of that lately (Vince Gill; Mark Kophler; Toby Keith; Alan Jackson; Zac Brown; etc). I really like that sound. Have you ever picked one?

I've only played dobro for a few songs one night at a jam session when the dobro player took a break and I asked to look at his dobro. I asked how it was tuned and he told me so I played the next few songs on the dobro. Since I already played guitar, banjo and mandolin, the dobro made sense so it wasn't too hard to improvise my way through a few tunes. It's one of my favorite instruments to listen to.

I'd absolutely love to hear you pick fretted-style Dobro, Bob. Do you have anything you'd be willing to share with us?

I'd absolutely love to hear you pick fretted-style Dobro, Bob. Do you have anything you'd be willing to share with us? No. LOL. Did you catch the part about "I've only played it once?" It was also standard dobro with the "floating" strings above the fretboard.

Okay, I just need to prod you to play every couple years or you won't take me seriously. LOL.
Did you take 35 minutes to listen to the D&V album? Those two are very good. Tight harmony.
I found Charlie & Ira's original version from '55 and, if my tired old ear aren't deceiving me, they actually did it one full step higher! That's amazing!
Emmylou has several Louvin songs on YT with Charlie singing harmony. Simply awesome.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
