Hi all,

Brenda and I wrote this song a couple of years go. Recently, I revisited the production and had a play around with some things I've picked up since first putting the song together. Hopefully it's improved things.

The song is all Realtracks/Realdrums and can be found at ...

... Heaven's Stairway (on Vimeo; better quality audio/video)

... Heaven's Stairway (on Youtube)

If anyone is interested in the music for this, a pdf of the lead sheet is available at the below link.

... Lead sheet - pdf (right-click and "save as")

Please feel free to critically comment on any aspect of the song, arrangement and production.

Regards,
Noel

LYRICS

Heaven's Stairway
©2013 Noel Adams and Brenda Smith

He came to Earth with Heaven's peace
The gentle man from Galilee
He came for you, and me, and all mankind
With tender words, He spoke of love
He showed us how to walk with God and built a way of hope
For all of us to climb

[CHORUS]
Come to Him
Run to Him
Jesus always hears us when we pray
He's the one
God's only son
He helps us, step by step, up Heaven's stairway

Trust in Him and trust His words
Share the love of His holy church
Believe in Him with all your heart and mind
Endless days of peaceful grace
And endless joy that never fades await in paradise
For all of us to find

[CHORUS]

Noel,

There is SO much to like about this! Best vocal ever. To begin with.

Best cadence to the lyrics - ever. EVER! They roll off the tongue SO nicely. Nothing ever in the way, just a natural feel. Big time bravo on that. The words SING.

Cool instrumentation. The guitar... the steel... perfect. Great tracks and a great mix. Cool.

Hi Floyd,

It's always good to hear from you. I've got to say, though, you've done it again! My computer monitor blushed a bright shade of red blush when I put your comments on-screen.

Thank you for taking time to listen and to pass on your thoughts. Your ideas always help me see my songs with new eyes and I always find that extremely beneficial. Much appreciated.

All the best,
Noel

Very nice work. I have seen quite a few groups in some local churches who perform this style of music.

Christian country is one of my favorites. I love a steel guitar.

Hi Noel and Brenda,

I'm not a fan of Christian country.
But this song is completely rounded:
good lyrics, vocals and mix.
Congratulations.

Nice all the way around. Great mix -- particularly the way it supports the vocal. Really cool the way the song has such a relaxed, loose feel (and I mean loose in a very positive manner). I agree with Floyd re the way the lyrics flow -- nothing forced. I'm an old Southern rocking gospel fan and don't listen to much of the new Christian music as it seems to always have a breathy/overly angst vibe. This production is very different as it really draws you into the words - and the vocal is outstanding.

Hi Janice and Bud,

I really appreciate all the positive comments. I know you'll give Brenda a huge smile, too. She'll be over the moon when she reads them. To be honest, I think good fortune was on our side when we wrote this song!

Once again, thank you!
Noel

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
